Where do those numbers come from- just curious is all.

Do they reflect total sales, digital etc?

With all of the upcoming titles slated for next year things seem better than those numbers would suggest. Perhaps the miniseries angle will help attract new readers hopefully?

Thanks! Wow a lot of great info on there. I have never really tracked these things but it may be interesting to start.

A) It bothers me that they list Eaglemoss as a publisher. Not quite in the same vein as actual comic book publishers.
B) They only list the Top 10 based on Dollar share, not Unit Share, which would be nice to see, because there are many more companies with a higher unit share than EagleMoss, and it would be more relevant to the industry to see those companies listed.
Just my two cents.

The coming months will be interesting to see. I wonder how much exposure the Humble Bundle generated and hopefully once those readers get through that huge mountain of reading if they will be hungry for more- hope so!

Not only that, but Diamond often only gives innitial numbers based on items shipped (not even units, but number of titles for example).

In another week, Comichron will have the estimated sales which are based on an index number Diamond releases.

It was included in the October Loot Crate.

Could you imagine if VEI got one of their issues in a loot crate delivery? What great exposure that would be.

Their crates are all themed. If they had a ninja theme, it would be a no brainer to try to get it in there.

Any info available on individual Valiant title sales?

This is entirely annecdotal, but a LCS in Phoenix is finally blowing out the early VEI issues at $1.00 each. They have tons of X-O Manowar 1, Harbinger 1, and Archer and Armstrong 1. This LCS ordered heavy on the early VEI titles, but they also did the same for DC 52, Marvel Now, etc. I saw that Valiant TPBs in Paris are priced at 5 euro. This was a price I saw at several comic shops (it is priced on the covers for that much), so I think this was some sort of promotional price. It looked like this was for the first TPBs for the various Valiant titles similar to the promotion they ran here in the states for the first TPBs.

I think Valiant is doing all they can to get these comics into readers hands. I think people are just going to have to realize VEI is not going to become a top 5 publisher for many years, if ever. The best chance they have now of becoming mainstream is getting a property made into a TV show or a movie. If we enjoy the titles and VEI's output, why does it matter if they are not a top publisher? :? They seem to be doing well enough to keep the doors open and there is nothing wrong with that IMHO.

If it did, then Valiant would be going against a trend in the past few years that shows mini-series sales are a losing proposition for titles. People want ongoing "relevant" titles. Marvel and DC have had a hard time making mini-series work outside of event books and with the rising cost of comics, elseworld or what if? type books have taken a beating. (Which makes the Quantum and Woody title a loser.) Image realizes this and doesn't even list titles as mini-series anymore, even if a title is a mini-series.
