I am more comfortable of Jared Leto being Bloodshot than Dave Bautista being Eternal Warrior..I am afraid of him being just another action hero..Without the pathos required..
Also is Dave Bautista playing Gilad??

Re: DAVE BAUTISTA in Talks for Valiant ETERNAL WARRIOR Film
It specifically said a role. Not the lead role. Altough the way Bautista speaks about, it sound's like he'll be playing the main character. It seems like he's involved in the scripting process enough that he's kept informed of the status of the drafts.Manaf82 wrote:I am more comfortable of Jared Leto being Bloodshot than Dave Bautista being Eternal Warrior..I am afraid of him being just another action hero..Without the pathos required..

It's interesting that despite Bautista's comments making it clear he's part of the Eternal Warrior film, the news article refers to him as being "in talks". Makes me think Jared Leto is probably officially signed as Bloodshot as well. Maybe Bautista might appear in a Bloodshot film to introduce Kay McHenry, and set up Deathmate. Deathmate would probably be better sequel villain though.

I might like those two actors and roles reversed. Interesting.
Good to hear of another film in development that we hadn't heard of before.

I am a fan of Bautista so I'm totally cool with this. I don't even think Leto is bad, really. The thing about a lot of this is that they are talking. We have no idea exactly what they would look like in post-production. I am going to remain optimistic.

I will say that I have a lot more confidence in a quality product being the result when someone who can act is chosen over someone who people think looks the part.
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

Stockpile the fifth appearance?valiantdude wrote:Best stockpile those ew #1s
Solar #10 & #11 came first...
Then he is in... Rai #5, Unity #0
... then EW #1.
Rai #5 is the first "future" Eternal Warrior (4001 A.D.) and he only appears in one panel, but you could argue that Rai #5 is actually the 2nd Eternal Warrior appearance (overall), since Rai #6 was an earlier Unity chapter than Solar #12, Rai #5 was (probably) earlier than Solar #11.

Wow, didn't see that coming. He's more burly than I'd have thought for EW... although they didn't say lead role.

For Gilad, I am thinking of guy a Russell Crowe-type of actor. Not just bulk, he has to have a LOT of weight on his shoulders, of the psychological kind. I do dig Bautista but I am not seeing the guy as EW.

Could he play Armstrong?
I mean, if he stops tightening his stomach muscles, it could start to look like a gut.
Put a beard on him, dress him up and there is Armstrong.
At least, in my opinion.
Personally, though, I want to see him play a villain.

yeah I was thinking that he could make a good Armstrong as welljxm640 wrote:Could he play Armstrong?

Remember that Armstrong was buff and chiseled in ancient Mesopotamia ... before the boon happened and thousands of years of guilt and depression led him to the drunken slob he became in present day.
So if its an EW flick ... you might need him only as the buff armstrong in the beginning to show the origin of EW .. and maybe a short appearance later as the slobbish armstrong in present day.
Its easier to dress up a buff actor to look fat and slobbish
than make an actor who isn't chiseled and buff .. to look that way - CGI would need to be involved and could come off as cheesy and fake if not done right.
So Bautista would make sense to cast as Armstrong than someone like say ... John Goodman .... you can't have flashback of Goodman as a buff and chiseled warrior.... that would not work.
If you are going to use a lot of flashbacks .. someone like Bautista makes a lot of sense as Armstrong

I'm convinced that guy who swore that he saw a Solar #10 White probably saw a Solar #10 black beside Fantastic Four #371 on a table and just assumed it was Solar #10 black next to a white variant.depluto wrote:Solar 10 White is going to go through the roof.

I seem to recall that Gilad stands between 6'6" and 6'8" at about 270 Lbs. He is also of middle eastern ethnicity.
So this is not far off.
