Collector's Insurance

Post by chadpdodge »

I wanted to get some of your opinions about collector's insurance. After doing some research I've found American Collector's Insurance & Collect Insure. Do any of you use these services and if you do. What has your experience been like with them filing any claims, setting up your insurance and any other pro's or cons.

It's a definite that I get collectors insurance for my collection as I keep accumulating more and more comics. Any feedback will help.

I have used Collect Insure for several years, but I haven't had to file a claim so I don't know how that would go.
I do sleep better just knowing that I have a policy.

You only have to itemize individual collectibles worth $5,000 or more, which is very few items for me. You can have any total coverage amount you want.

Check with your homeowners/renters insurance for applicable rider policies. They are often cheaper than what you can get at the places you mentioned.

Collect Insure costs 0.5% per year for the covered amount. The $35 per month you mentioned would get you $84,000 worth of total coverage with Collect Insure.
