I really hope LA folks come out today to support Dinesh!
For those who did not see the other post, here it is again. If you are in the LA area and are around 11 to 2 (maybe later it's up to Dino) you should, if you can, stop by and say hi to support him.
The retail thing is mostly just BS, an inside joke between us to create a reason for him to be there.
I am sure Dinesh has offers from many companies in our industry, but for now, he needs to make a few dollars on the side. Being a good friend, I offered him a job. Not sure how long he lasts in a tough retail environment of a San Fernando Valley comic book store, it could be just a day. (11-2 for sure, maybe later).
If you are in or anywhere near Los Angeles this Wednesday, stop by and buy something from Dinesh, he needs to prove to me he can do this retail thing.

It was good to see Dinesh and Ed, so many questions I always forget to ask. Can't wait to hang with Dinesh around the convention floors.

Well even though Dinesh and Valiant are two separate entities now he has always been, first and foremost, a fan of comics in general. Some of my fondest interactions with Dinesh over the years have centered around a common love and nerdom of great comic books. So don't be surprised to see him roaming the show floor buying books like the rest of us common folk.Ricomortis wrote:Soooo.... He does this quite a bit actually the last day of SDCC last year I was going through the Silver age pavilion and going through boxes and Dinesh and I basically bumped into each other buying booksTHEWGZK wrote:Well even though Dinesh and Valiant are two separate entities now he has always been, first and foremost, a fan of comics in general. Yes, I've spent a few SDCC days rummaging through boxes with him. And I've held his recent purchases more than a few times at my booth. The dude loves himself some comics.betterthanezra wrote:He does this quite a bit actually the last day of SDCC last year I was going through the Silver age pavilion and going through boxes and Dinesh and I basically bumped into each other buying booksTHEWGZK wrote:Well even though Dinesh and Valiant are two separate entities now he has always been, first and foremost, a fan of comics in general. Just Troy, unfortunately. Valiant fans did not participate. I understand it was 11-2 on Wed. I tried to talk him into a Saturday thing but he had a day open before going to ECCC.myron wrote:So how did it all go? Who made it out to see dino?
He now knows how to use the register REALLY WELL. Bagging comics, not so much, too slow

Sorry to hear of the low turnout, but i suppose that was a tough time slot to hit. Very cool of you & him to do it again [I'm remembering the Employee #4 days]. I would have made the effort to come in if I lived down there!paradise wrote:Just Troy, unfortunately. Valiant fans did not participate. I understand it was 11-2 on Wed. Re: I really hope LA folks come out today to support Dinesh!
I'm just really lucky and fortunate to be able to hit those times. And any time Ed has this stuff I'll be there. Dino was slow at bagging but his customer service and interactions were good. He didn't recommend a lot of books to me. Maybe next time. Very fun can't wait for the next thing Ed sets up.
