Re: VALIANT FEBRUARY SALES
Top 200 numbers are solid. Would be nice to slide into the top 150 with a few titles. Difficult with MArvel/DC taking up the top 100-120 themselves.

X-O staying around 10k monthly. That's awesome.

Will be interesting to watch HW2 numbers. Could be really high like Book of Death, or the complete opposite.

If I was a betting man id put my money on the complete opposite.nycjadie wrote:Will be interesting to watch HW2 numbers. Could be really high like Book of Death, or the complete opposite.
I dont know what the deal is maybe its the lack of part of the original valiant dream team. But where's the hype. Wheres the latest gimic.
Hw2 feels like christmas at 52 not 12.
I Miss the good old days.

I tend to agree with this. While I'm personally looking forward to HWII, I feel like the event is hitting at an odd time given there's no monthly Harbinger / Secret Weapons / or psiots in the current Bloodshot book - why not build THAT foundation first then have a killer cross-over/line-wide event?nonplayer wrote:If I was a betting man id put my money on the complete opposite.nycjadie wrote:Will be interesting to watch HW2 numbers. Re: VALIANT FEBRUARY SALES
I'd say these numbers are pretty solid! Q&W is dropping fast, but the rest seem to be staying strong (especially X-O). It's too bad Vault of Spirits didn't sell a little better, but it's not totally unexpected.
I'm having trouble believing that HW2 will be a hit as well. I'm fairly certain the first issue will sell well, but I just really don't know.
My guess is that they tried that with Renegade, but weren't happy with the outcome. The awkward breaks inbetween arcs didn't help at all. How did they expect to build tension with 9 issues (10, including HW2 0) spread over a 19 month period, in which the Renegades only show up for 6 of those issues?Bl00dsh0t wrote:I tend to agree with this. Re: VALIANT FEBRUARY SALES
I thought the initial timing of Renegades was perfect in the build up but then when it went on hiatus for the second arc and then another break (which looks more long term given the lack of announcements for this title) it just doesn't make sense leading into a major event...TheFerg714 wrote:I'd say these numbers are pretty solid! Re: VALIANT FEBRUARY SALES
It seemed when they initially announced HW2 years ago, that it was timed to coincide with the announced timeline of the movies. Not a bad idea, but they needed to follow that schedule.
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

The frustrating thing is that Book of Death was one of Valiant huge sellers but was poorly executed IMO (mainly due to the art). They put a ton of marketing into it but an inexperienced artist, a business decision I could never understand?!? I’m certain HW2 will be far better but will struggle to break 25k saleswise unfortunately.
I’m still looking forward to it though.
