Comic book display shelves in closet just built

Post by Juki »

I basically built a comic book wall in my Master Bedroom Closet for displaying slabbed Valiant comic books this past weekend. There are four 2.5 inch wide shelves stacked vertically which can hold 6 slabbed comics each (24 comics in total). The CGC slabbed books have silicone pro-slab guard edge covers which "fix them into place." Comics are easily changed out or re-arranged.

The closet is between the Master Bedroom and Master Bath. So, when getting ready in the morning the comic display is easily viewed.

I will attempt to upload a few pics from tapatalk. Keep in mind that it hard to get the whole thing in one picture as the closet is only 6.5 'x6.5 ' with 10' ceiling and clothes racks on two walls.

Special thanks to Summydad1 for giving me advice and help via e-mail with this project (as he has comic display shelves in his house)!

Haha....I thought about that too. But the steam doesn't reach them. There is sink/vanity / dressing area just outside closet.

It was a good weekend. After I finished my comic display shelves I found some of the original VHI key comics in storage (which I thought were stolen a few years back) as well as a bunch of post Unity comics. Many of the VH1 Valiants that I had were in 2 boxes that were taken. These comics have been through a lot (But, I just re-found these and am happy to have them back in hand.)

I just enjoy knowing that these were the actual comics that I picked out at the LCS in the 1990s. I tried to buy 2 copies of #1s and important issues back then.

One of the Harby 1s has the coupon and is unread. The other was removed for the mail away.

That is the original envelope used by Valiant to mail the pink Harbinger 0 comics. You can tell how much I loved VH1 by what I wrote on the envelope for storage in the 90s.

Divinity #1 1:40 GCG 9.6 Valiant Label... I’ll definitely post about it once it’s in hand, it’s been at the top of my want list for three years.

I’m anxiously awaiting, for some type of announcement about the next mini. Everybody involved has been real hush mouth on social media. Right now they pushing Shadowman and HW2 heavy, as they should. That’s why the annual Valiant Summit needs to take place in April, (no word yet, either way) so we can get some insight on what’s coming this fall...

I'm pretty sure it was reported the there will be no summit this year. I think it was asked at ECCC.

Yeah Corey, The only reason I get away with it is because my wife and I have separate closets on opposite ends of the bathroom... Of course her closet is twice as big.

The edge protectors are an intriguing idea. Not only does it protect but it kinda frames the cover so it pops more. Whadja pay for those? They look a little pricey on Amazon.

That looks beautiful! I'm jealous. I also wish my wife appreciated my collection and my love for it just a little bit.
