Turok Video Game references in VEI?
By the way I think my mixup of VEI and VE1 is ENTIRELY forgivable, because in many fonts I and one are pretty hard to see a difference.
Well, when I heard about Oblivi-1 that sounded to me like a clear tip-of-the-hat to the Turok video games, despite that being an entirely different company, and a rather different thing. Still, cosmic threats being what they are...
I haven't read Savage. Or VEI Timewalker. Just heard.
If anyone reading this can pass the note to Valiant HQ we really want to see a Cerebral Bore again.

I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

I second the notion of re-introducing the Cerebral Bore back into the VU

On that note, for anyone interested physical media publisher, Limited Run Games just released what I think are the original two Turok titles but now published for the Switch in physical media. Their Turok breakdown is pretty neat.... Turok 1 & Turok 2 for the Switch each with foil embossed covers (LRG Exclusive) and a full color booklets.

To bring my question back... Do you think Oblivi-1 was a Turok video games reference? And are there others in VEI?

I haven't been reading the Dynamite material but this cover caught my attention as it references Classic Valiant and Acclaim Era versions of Turok.

I'm pretty sure this influenced Savage's raptor claw weapon.

Sonic, on that Dynamite Turok cover, I don't see what you mean aside from the fact that that Turok looks basically the same as the earlier versions. I guess using close visuals are references. It is indeed striking to note that Dynamite kept the iconic look. At least in this case. I've seen them do different looks which really bugged me. Or was there something else Im missing?

I'm not sure how it pertains to the story since I haven't been reading it. I just found it interesting that they used very specific references to the Valiant & Acclaim versions of Turok.Oxmyx wrote:Sonic, on that Dynamite (sucks!) Re: Turok Video Game references in VEI?
The most recent DE Turok book brought Turok back to the Lost Land and introduced the multiverse to Turok, so all versions of Turok* made brief appearances in the last couple issues.
*Gold Key, VH1, Acclaim, multiple DE versions from the last few years.

I may have to check that out. I'm not a Dynamite fan but definitely a Turok fan.SwiftMann wrote:The most recent DE Turok book brought Turok back to the Lost Land and introduced the multiverse to Turok, so all versions of Turok* made brief appearances in the last couple issues.

Re: Turok Video Game references in VEI?
I remember this video game! I played it when I was a kid. You could say that my childhood was built on these games. Now I have a wild desire to play something like that again. Maybe I'll even play Minecraft. I also have a lot of fond memories of this game. I spent hundreds of evenings with my friends, playing various survival servers. We built houses, mined resources, and killed monsters, and it all gave us a lot of positive emotions. It was a carefree childhood that I would love to return to. I am sure that many people would like to do the same.
