More VALIANT Comics on Netflix
No, not any VALIANT Netflix series, but on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 4 Episode 7 you can see Ninjak, Bloodshot and Savage at around the 8 minute mark on a newsstand rack. This is the second time I’ve spotted VALIANT books on a Netflix series (Season 2 of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina also showed several VEI TPBs in an episode in season 2).
Good exposure on a hit Netflix series. Especially in an episode that includes several Marvel mentions and Jon Bernthal in a guest role.

Lol. That was actually the children’s book she wrote. She was going around putting it on shelves at libraries and news stands. “Legend of Gremulax” or something like that. She actually places it in front of Ninjak.Chiclo wrote:IS SHE HOLDING LEGENDS OF THE GEOMANCER?!?!
All these VEI books showing up as props on Netflix makes me think someone was sending out material to maybe pitch some Netflix series. With Disney+ pulling in all the Marvel stuff, and the DC app originals, I wonder if Netflix would consider some VEI movies/shows?

Re: More VALIANT Comics on Netflix
This is actually easy to explain. Every time productions shoot at our shop (happens more than you'd think) they always remove anything marvel and dc off the shelves visible in shots as they don't want to get sued for not asking permissions. They know most small companies are just happy to have their products in the background, so that's why you always see this type of stuff. So either they got a couple of racks from a shop for the shoot, and that's what they were given or they got empty racks and someone went and bought books from a shop. That person may have been a fan, or the shopkeeper may have given him stuff he wanted to get rid of. It could be anything and I would not read anything into it.

Carol Kane is great. Even better when she just goes around randomly smacking things with a hammer.

Hah! Yeah, the show really surprised me. Wasn’t sure I’d like it but it’s so over the top (and knows it) that it works.Chiclo wrote:I have seen the show. I was just mouthing off.BugsySig wrote:Lol. Since the whole concept of Kimmy Schmidt was created by Tina Fey, I hoped it would be at a 30 Rock level of funny but it actually exceeds the "silliness factor" of 30 Rock since it didn't have any limitations once Kimmy development got away from NBC.BugsySig wrote:Hah! It may not age well, since there are lots of purposefully "unwoke" themes and characters but that's why it was perfect for the time of release. It was still funny to make fun of things that aren't funny (except that they really are funny).
Either political extreme (left or right) is always ripe for humor, even when "it's not funny, stop laughing, I'm being persecuted" is their current cause.
