Man, that costume looks super-familiar. At first I thought it might be one of Stan Lee's Boom books (Traveler, Starborn, Soldier Zero), but it's none of those exactly.

But, yeah, another new character using a legacy VH1 name. That's exactly what the fanbase is looking for. :!:

I'm intrigued. Paul is old guard, and I wonder if his style fits in with today's newer and slower paced storytelling. I'm interested to see that. I'm not familiar with MJ Kim, but her work is interesting. I didn't love all of the artwork under Warren's editorial oversight, but this looks like a fun and intriguing change of pace.

I'm rereading all of the VEI books, and I'm really slogging through a few titles like A&A. The artwork has a significant impact on how I enjoy a work. It doesn't have to be realistic (e.g. Kindt's work I like), but hard artwork and a hard story are really hard for me to stomach.

Also, not concerned at all about rethinking Visitor. I just don't think it ever quite worked well. The concept was interesting, but the execution was off.

This is intriguing. I like the design and the art looks nice. I would assume there’s a big reveal as to the character’s identity by the end. If not an existing character then some major connection to one. It’s too much in the core of the character to not include it. No flying and using guns opens up the possibilities too. Could be a non powered individual, powered in non physical ways, or a depowered character.

I can't say it's the most inspired costume design in the world, but this looks cool, and I've heard good things about Paul Levitz. I'm down.

She worked on Faith: Dreamside and killed it. I can't wait to see what she does here.

I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

This series seems interesting to me, but I was a little disappointed to discover, having seen the character and read "sci-fi story" that this isn't a 4001 title. Hopefully it'll be an interesting current-day story.

The costume reminds me a bit of the Sect soldiers and a bit of The Vine.

Character design doesn’t look very impressive but im optimistic that they’re bringing in an old school writer (ie not one of the current woke unknowns that dominate the books) so I’ll probably give this a go.

My first guess was something to do with the Torment, but now I'm thinking maybe an upgraded Sunlight on Snow...

...or Neela.

Is it something in the artwork that has changed your guesswork?

The first images I saw were blue body, single-eye, making me think Torment. The current images seem robotic-plus-mystery (Sunlight-On-Snow) and the suit ignoring the head looks like future Neela and she's always a visitor (through time).

This stood out to me as I love the behind the scenes of how these things come together. Fred is great and I think it's awesome he's actively involved. I'm not entirely stoked tho how they take an old title and make it entirely different than the original concept. I'd rather see an updated modern version as they've done with X-O Manowar, Bloodshot, A&A, Harbinger, etc. If it is a new character/concept, like Divinity, Savage, Britannia, I prefer it named accordingly. Anyone else care either way?

Agree. Very rarely does “we need to use this old IP, can you figure this out” create an inspiring and original work.

It depends on the IP. I don't really wanna see Pete re-enter the stage as The Visitor, so in this instance I'm okay with change. But yeah, it sucks they have to use an old name for a new character to retain the IP.

This is the first new Valiant title I've been really interested in since the Life and Death of Toyo Harada.

But then again, I never expected VEI would ever go this long without publishing an X-O Manowar book...
