First COMPLETE CGC 9.8 Harbinger (1992) Registry Set
With the addition of the ONLY known CGC 9.8 Harbinger TPB (Second Printing) to my Harbinger (1992) CGC Registry Set, it becomes after almost three decades (27 years in this case), the first (to my knowledge) 100% Harbinger (1992) collection ever completed.
All it cost was an arm and a leg, multiple disappointing 9.6s, and a few years... ...and an indirect assist by CKB... ...and a direct assist by Stephen Coates... ...and an indirect assist by Cary Nord.
Please check it out linked below!

This is really cool. I'm super happy. This is the ONLY book in my master set I have ever parted with. Ever. I never let go of my best copy, but I'm really glad it found a great home.

Well if it couldn't be me to get there first I'm glad it was you with an assist from Steve. So how was I indirectly involved? The 2nd print TPB?

You had the 9.8 mislabeled, and sold to Steve, who had it corrected by CGC, and later cut a deal with me.ckb wrote:So how was I indirectly involved? The 2nd print TPB?

I cracked both of the copies that I got from CKB, as well as a few more from other sources. And I can't tell you how many other copies I screened. Dozens. Dozens upon dozens. And it's still the only one.DirtbagSailor wrote:You had the 9.8 mislabeled, and sold to Steve, who had it corrected by CGC, and later cut a deal with me.ckb wrote:So how was I indirectly involved? Re: First COMPLETE CGC 9.8 Harbinger (1992) Registry Set
I got the second print directly from Diamond - I mean I specially ordered it from the Star system TPB thing just so I had one - carefully put it away and stored it in mylar for...wait for it...~12 years!?!... Then I explicitly remember sending in both copies for my CGC 9.8 collection... When they came back with the same label it was pre-registry, so I didn't think anything of it. I "knew" one was first and one was second. That was probably more than 15 (additional!) years ago, and "knew" became "maybe, I think, must be, why else would I do this?" So I am very glad I was right.nycjadie wrote:I cracked both of the copies that I got from CKB, as well as a few more from other sources. And I can't tell you how many other copies I screened. Dozens. Does a second printing look any different than a first print.

Congrats on completing the set.
The higher numbers and the 2 non-regular TPBs are just not that easy to get. I have been stuck at 75% for a while.
Hopefully a few more of us can join you up on the mountain top eventually

The difference is that second printing is listed in one and not the other. Also, the first printing was polybagged and came with Harbinger #0. The second printing was NOT polybagged.

Epic set! Pardon my ignorance here, but what does the ‘nn’ stand for on the TPB listings?
I like to draw stuff... http://grendeljd.deviantart.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
My wife likes to draw stuff too, and she is better than me! [I'm very proud of her]... https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sara-Dec ... ref=stream" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

(e.g. Since the TPB is a collection / volume, it is NOT simply Harbinger issue No. 3, etc.. Also, this applies to books like the Nintendo Comics System Sneak Preview #nn as it is NOT a #1 issue in a series, nor is it a #5 issue, etc.).
