So much of it is, right? Plus, we have to decide whether to make policy that is best for those living today versus what is best for those in the future.

Of course, there's also the conceit that there is one stationary policy that is "right." To me, it seems quite possible that the both the conservative and liberal economic models are "right" at certain times to achieve certain goals and that it might have been to our inadvertent benefit to oscillate between the two over the generations.
My wife, the political scientist, has espoused a strict anarchist viewpoint for years. I lean socialist, but the more I see and experience, the more I think she might be right.

Thanks for the history lesson, Chiclo. That was a lot of work.
As a sci-fi geek, I think the Rule of Aquisition was a nice touch, but as a factory worker I'm not very fond of it.

You're conservative right? Whatever happened to DON'T TRED ON ME

My favorite RoA is "Dignity and an empty sack is worth a sack"
I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

Nemo me impune lacessit.

If an employer treads on you, find another. This isn't Soviet Russia, there are other jobs to be had. Ultimately, the goal is to be the one doing the treading!

Another of my favourite rules is "Treat people in your debt like family - exploit them." I quoted that last weekend. At the gun counter. Because the guy at the gun counter felt I had been unfair in a trade with a family member involving an AR-10.

Ultimately, the goal is to be the one doing the treading!.
We just have pretty different ways of looking at things, Chiclo. I say "Ultimately the goal is an environment where there is no treading involved. It is neither needed nor acceptable"

And if the customer asks for their money back, give it to them.

Here's what I think of religion and government. It's all about fear and conflict.

Law is the thin veneer that keeps it all together. And it's a very thin veneer.

There is always treading. It's just a matter of minimizing it on average.

In my opinion, a delayed reciprocity economy is the best system with the least screwing of others, but it only works on a small scale (groups of friends/family). Easy to police/self-regulate. Minimal strife. Go beyond a group of 20 or so and it falls apart.

Gift economy is the economy of Jesus, but ain't nobody gonna be able to keep that up.

Barter is probably where we should have stopped, but if you leave bartering, then communism (true communism) is the only fair way to operate.

Monstrous. Perhaps there is no ground for compromise after all.

Interesting this thread is going strong..It seems like everyone is taking the time to grasp the horrors of china worldwide in a collective consciousness sort of way..., I swear to God, somewhere in the depths of China is a Snoke-like(Disney star wars)demon that runs the the show..
The characters of valiant are POWs, at least the gold key 3 are trapped in another less dreary place..
