Such a disappointment. It all looks so bad. The Bloodshot trailer made me forget for a few days how bad the comics have become. Maybe the new X-O series will change that :hope:

Let’s hope the Visitor is a good read from an old school writer. Visually it’s very poor (design wise) but right now just give me a great story and I’ll make do.

Rai will hopefully be as good as Fallen World.

Bloodshot...let’s hope there’s a dramatic improvement from the dire issue #1.

As for Psi Lords (urgh), Roku (C lister so will wait for the reviews) and Quantum and Woody (been stung too many times with those characters) it’s a big fat no thank you!

What has happened to the art direction of this company? 90% of alllllll those multiple covers are just boring single character portraits / closeups of character faces. Absolutely nothing compelling to inspire any interest in what’s going on in those books.

Only thing I find to be really interesting is a new Deluxe (although a Unity 2 Deluxe would have been even better).

Surprised to see HARBINGER WARS 2 #0 being collected in the deluxe edition as I though it was going to be like Legends of the Geomancer 1-4. Never available digitally and never to be reprinted.

It doesn’t bother me it is being reprinted (in fact I like that it is) just it seems contrary to what I thought we were told :-?

We were told it wouldn't be reprinted UNTIL a deluxe edition.

I too am getting pretty close to having zero Valiant books on my pull list. I will have Rai, as Fallen World was solid, but as for the rest of them, they're all pretty much gone. Bloodshot is still hanging on, but there are zero mini's I am signing up for. I agree with Q&W, sadly I will not get this book either.

Nuh, it hasn't sunk yet.....but it certainly doesn't look so good either.
“Will it stay in place?” asked Hill. “It could be stuck there for days or it could be stuck there for years. It’s anyone’s guess.”

I've seen the first 6 issues of Rai (unlettered) and they look fantastic. I really enjoyed Fallen World so I am pumped to see where Abnett takes the story. I see the hate is still strong on this board so I expect I am alone in my excitement. Maybe the name should change to ValiantHaters.com?

Woah hold on a second, before you pat yourself too hard on the back I think you’ll find that Fallen World was well received by ValiantHaters.com, a cursory check of the published section and the monthly ratings thread will show you that.

However, if you want to come on and tell us how awesome Livewire, Forgotten Queen, Psi Lords, BS Rising Spirit is etc then that might be different! :P

The preorder edition solicited with issue 1 was for 12 issues. So no new preorder unless this series goes to another arc starting with 13.

I legitimately, thoroughly enjoyed Forgotten Queen. I don't even understand what anyone's problem with that title was.

Rising Spirit was fun, if apparently inconsequential and victim of changing creative teams mid series. If I'm being honest I enjoyed the first issue of Rising Spirit more than I enjoyed the first issue of Seeley/Booth Bloodshot.

I haven't read Psi Lords yet. The art looks gorgeous. I like Van Lente.

Livewire Vol. 1 was kind of "meh" for me. I didn't hate it or love it.

I really enjoyed the art on Punk Mambo, I like the character, but I wasn't particularly interested in the villain.

Killers is great in my opinion. Art and writing.

I've only read issue #1 of the new Doctor Mirage but I liked it.

So for me Valiant is having a solid year and still better on average than Marvel.

There's not a single person from DMG in the New York office. Fred Pierce is still the publisher, and aside from a brief absence senior editor Robert Meyers has been there since 2012 or 2013. I highly doubt Dan Mintz gives two *SQUEE* about what the comics division is publishing, as long as they are pumping out new stories and new characters for prospective licensing and adaptation to other media.

But we aren't comparing Valiant's year with Marvel's year. We are stating that of the slate of comics for Valiant this year, most of them are/were not good. As Dallow Spicer mentioned, you're not in the norm category, as the sales numbers are very much way down and have proved that the fans/purchasers of these books agree that most are/were not good.

Furthermore, our unhappiness is their recent past combined with the lack-luster kick off to 2020. Their re-launch of Acclaim titles/characters is just head scratching.

Out of interest, how many out of 5 would you rate Forgotten Queen and how many out of 5 for LADOTH would you give?

I can't see how DMG is not running publishing. There has been a marked difference in quality of story, type of creator, strategy of which comics to publish, marketing ideas etc that began the month Dinesh left and they took over. Also, DMG spent hundreds of millions to buy Valiant (was the actual number ever said?) and since then we've seen a drop in licensing and a very quiet adaptation front outside of Bloodshot which according to all reports Valiant is not involved in (didn't Sony say that Valiant has only seen footage that has been made public?). Publishing is all they have left. I can't imagine a scenario where DMG spends all that money to be left with only publishing and then doesn't run it.

Fred Pierce and Robert Meyers both seem very nice but the results of their last two years of work make it clear they aren't up to doing the job at the level Dinesh and crew did.
