Whoo-hoo!! Good haul last night on mostly unsleeved VH1

Post by Oxmyx »

I have been appalled at the prices at all the local venues for used comics, but recently I found out a used bookstore I already love has a bargain comics section

Last night I discovered Chaos Effect had a Secrets of the Valiant Universe edition. Boy it was a secret because it isn't included in the in-comic guides.

I also found a Secrets VU number 1
Heavy Metal #1
XO Wolfbridge Affair sword cover
XO 10, 11
XO 33 to 57 (with a few holes)
(I've heard the later XO are hard to find)
and a few VEI trade Paperbacks I was looking for
And VEI 2 issues Brittania (which I have been wanting to read)

I figure this is the wrong place to post, but hey, it's good to share the fun
I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

Whatchutalkinboutoxmyx? :D

This is a known book:

...or are you saying that it wasn't included on the Chaos Effect "checklist" that Valiant made? (Because it is listed under Week 1 Beta) :thumb:

Wow, Greg, you're exactly right. I had forgotten the inclusion of SECRETS on the published checklist. Now I feel sheepish, which is insulting to hooved animals generally.

But regardless my CHAOS EFFECT collection is one step closer to completion, as unworthy as the comics of that period may be.

No worries. :high-five:

I always get a little excited when someone posts "discovered" or "secret not included in guides" because we actually had a discovery like that a few years ago (Secrets of the Valiant Universe #1 Wizard Special Edition - silver foil stamped covers). I'm always watching for the next Valiant discovery.

Those are some great comics. Keep that VH1 spirit alive.

I'm just glad it was pretty good, long and drawn out. (that's what she said.)

What are you missing from chaos effect? I believe I have a longbox of issues that haven’t been picked up or paid for so I might be able to help.
It's not that I don't have an avatar... I've just been working on it for the last few hundred years.

Wow Aram that's very cool of you. At this point I'm only missing 5 from Chaos Effect...Armorines, Rai, Solar, Ninjak, and Bloodshot. I saw on Swift's post that the Armorines one is part of a fun space battle, so I'm most interested in that one.

But really I'm more interested in the 90s trade Paperbacks if you have extras of those. I wanna get more pre-Unity going in my collection
