Any Acclaim collectors not buying current VEI?
There's no shortage of people saying "it's Acclaim all over again". I'm just wondering if any of those people have big Acclaim collections. I assume some people do, since there are a lot of completists among us. Will people who are not collecting Valiant currently for various reasons end up going back and buying all these recent VEI issues in the future?

As one of those completionists, I'm definitely not stopping now. Even when the titles are garbage reads like Livewire, Psi-Lords, and Roku, it's these type of books that become the hard to find and/or expensive issues down the road.

I do. But that is mostly because I bought the Acclaim books as something to do during the void of Valiant related material after Acclaim. And then I read those issues in bulk (as much as I could stomach). So basically, Acclaim was a collection that I put together on the cheap when no one in across the greater market had any radar on any Valiant titles.GammaJosh wrote:There's no shortage of people saying "it's Acclaim all over again". I think the same could happen to this iteration of Valiant, but it would be a stronger market if they didn't become a mini-series publisher and if there was some through lines of continuity across the last 5 years or so.

Are there any Acclaim comics worth picking up?

Quantum & Woody was legit gold, as others have said here. NIO was fun. Bloodshot had some interesting art direction, IIRC... Sal Velluto. I'm a Kaminski fan so I buy his stuff.X-1ManofWar wrote:Are there any Acclaim comics worth picking up?
Most of the other stuff remains in collections simply out of the desire for completion. The painted covers were cool.

Define "worth picking up."X-1ManofWar wrote:Are there any Acclaim comics worth picking up?
Quantum & Woody is certainly worth reading, and part of the VEI universe now. Chainsaw (antagonists in the Bloodshot movie) first appeared in Bloodshot #2 &3. Bloodshot #1 was also the first appearance of "Ray Garrison" as Bloodshot, which could possibly be a bit of a sleeper for collectibility. Doctor Tomorrow is coming back as a VEI title, so if that is well received, the Acclaim books might get some steam.
