It seems to me that there are tons of people who act like this is a new thing. Have these people not read Eternal Warrior SWORD OF THE WILD? (I'm sure there are other easy examples)
I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

At the "height" of the Dinesh/Warren era, what was the highest number of classic tentpole characters that got a book during the same month? 5? 6
So, at least in terms of number of tentpole characters getting books, if you're asking for more than what is currently announced, you're actually asking for more than Dinesh and Warren ever delivered.

I'm impressed with how unemotional you are making this.Ramses818 wrote: So how to fix Valiant? Have no expectations and read what you enjoy.
I agree there's zero influence our arguments can have, and the best use of our energies is to do something else until we read what is published and acknowledge our only power here is being a consumer (for most of us anyway).
But it's just so much more fulfilling to banter online
You're later WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) comment struck me as a very practical way to handle the situation.

Perfect point. It is sad and a wasted resorce for Dmg running valiand not to read this. Because if they did their comics would be better and we'd be buying them

This is true. And the number show it.

It is sadness most of us feel that we cand suport our favorite publisher because right now they are making garbage. Maybe if we banter they will get off their high horse of thinking they are making good comics.

Re: Let’s talk solutions to fix Valiant!
Granted I dont post much (hardly at all) so maybe I dont have the ins and outs of everything like others do.
Some of the best comic storylines had writing AND art coming together to create that arc where people couldnt wait for the next one to come out.
One person that can do both of those do show up from time to time (John byrne, Chris Claremont, etc). It also seemed they were under less corporate pressure than the guys now. It was "just" comics anyway.
Nowadays, it seems to be more of a standard of a couple of people working as a team to get something out.
There are some that see what the other position is doing and think" Hell, I could do that myself" and then go off on their own.
Nothing wrong with that until they realize they need more than those 2-3 stories to sustain a comic.
It helps in that ideas come from everywhere so if one writer has a block, maybe the artist or another writer can say "did you ever think of doing this with your guy?"
Or there's only so many times you can have comic characters "talking" to each other but draw them looking like they are yelling before people start asking why they are yelling. Or how come in that universe they dont have feet. Or that it looks like they are all having a hard time on the toilet squeezing one out.
Maybe Valiant is trying out their artists with different writers to try and see if they can find that "team" that just jells and creates the special arc fans love. Once they have that on a couple of titles, then you can build an integrated universe.
my 2 cents.

Still, a couple of 'mentions' hardly lends the universe that tight-knit feel.

I hate reboots. Every year for DC and Marvel.
Think this is a time for a reboot?

A reboot would just be Acclaim 2.0 at this point.

I don’t thinks reboot is necessary or the solution. It’s the people in charge who need to either be replaced or radically change the direction of how they’re running the company. Not sure what a reboot with the same people in charge would achieve and I’m not sure how many of the remaining 4900 of us would stay on board or use it as an opportunity to say sayonara?

Re: Let’s talk solutions to fix Valiant!
Maybe getting all the writers and editors together for annual 'Valiant retreats' like they used to do until the buyout would help bring some cohesion back into the universe. Sit all the creatives down in a cabin for three days and let them knock ideas about and plan some narrative events that have ramifications across titles. Or kill each other.

Re: Let’s talk solutions to fix Valiant!
two great points above.
Dallow Spicer, I am only getting Rai and Psi Lords, and only liking Rai even thought it just started.
It could be an out for people, something I didn't think about.
I personally would pick up more, to see direction.
Shadowman99 ~ another good point. Would give direction. NB ~ You around for Christmas????

Very good interview with EIC Robert Myers on Get Valiant, tough questions are asked and answered.
They don't hear us or if they do we are being ignored, check it out and make up your mind.

He seems oblivious to what the hard core thinks and I don’t hear any learnings from 2019. If he’s calling out Psi-Lords as a great book then he’s in cloud cuckoo land.
Did he say Heather Antos will be the editor on the next Shadowman book?

Re: Let’s talk solutions to fix Valiant!
listening to it again the interviewers did lightly touch on some decent questions. It was good that they touched upon the use of B level characters and asked Robert Meyers what hadn’t worked this year. It seemed though that his only learning was having more issues written and drawn ahead of release The problems of the last 12 months have been far more than just that.hawkeyeps wrote:Very good interview with EIC Robert Myers on Get Valiant, tough questions are asked and answered.

Meyers also gave some odd answers about having 6 titles but having them appeal to different types of readers, this explains why many of the people on this board don’t like many of the books but then where is this other audience that does like Livewire, Psi Lords, Roku etc??
Mercifully common sense has prevailed and Psi Lords is being cut short from 12 to 8 issues. After numerous flops will we still have more FVL on more Valiant books... probably
After watching this interview I wasn’t left feeling inspired that the company is in good hands and if anything I’m worried about the damage this regime will do in 2020 to the A list characters like XO, Harbingers, Ninjak etc by putting more woke writers on the books. I hope I’m wrong.

I think there were some questions that were meant to be tough, but got answered with platitudes and misdirection to the point we forgot. didn’t hear too many tough questions...
Specifically...they asked him something like "where do you think you could have done better?" and about core characters and such.
But like the original comment...they aren't listening to us. But like others have said, the future of Valiant is a market of 14 year olds and THEIR tastes, not us.
