I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

Being an EIC is much better than being an EAC.

I gotta repost my interview with him on YouTube. He talked about some of the creative origins of characters etc... but I was surprised by how much he talked about the business of comics and the wheeling and dealing.

Well, Chiclo, how entirely appropriate you are the one who answered, since it was you (etc) on OTV I was listening to.
About 20 minutes into the podcast someone said the phrase and I had an ahah moment.
I finished it last night.
Fascinating stuff. I wonder if there is a Part 2 of the episode like a year later with the results of the lawsuit.
I'm possibly the only person on this board who knows more about Valiant comics than comics in general.

I don't even remember if the results of that lawsuit were ever made public?Oxmyx wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 7:14:19 amWell, Chiclo, how entirely appropriate you are the one who answered, since it was you (etc) on OTV I was listening to.

I assume you are referring to the lawsuit that VEI filed against Shooter when he jumped ship to Dark Horse round about 2010?

Yup you assume correctly but the Podcast app I'm using says OTV 37 is from Oct 2009. I'm not sure if that is accurate. That date makes your offhand guess of 2010 pretty darn close.
Can anyone give us more info on the results? It sounds like a settlement was reached. Obviously Dark Horse wasn't held up too much.

I was at SDCC in 2010 and Dark Horse had an SDCC exclusive something, not just the Dr. Solar cover, I can't remember what, and I literally grabbed one off the top of a pile on my way out the door at the end of the show on Sunday. It was the last thing I did on the show floor before I left. I am glad I did. That is why I can remember that time frame.Oxmyx wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 10:31:27 am Yup you assume correctly but the Podcast app I'm using says OTV 37 is from Oct 2009. Re: What's an EIC? Shooter is described as a ghost EIC
Joe Petrilak arranged celebration of his 50th anniversary in comics a few years back, a bunch of us kicked in and put together a run of all the Valiant comic books produced while he ran the show (he didn't own any).
It was nice, we had a cake and an engraved commemorative trophy. I did the interview... which went on for maybe 2.5 hours. All told I think we were with him for about four hours at his friend's condo in Nyack, NY. We drank coffee and he signed a mountain of books for us after the interview.
Needless to say, as a Valiant fan, it was one of the best days of my life. I think the files may be on Onedrive, perhaps I can post links directly on the board... maybe rework that original post or something.
