Why the sale price of the Unity Diamond tpb 1 and 2 CGC 9.6 are not reflected in the pricing guide?

I think they were on eBay for a minute. I can't recall exactly where and what price, but it was something like $550 for the pair, or something like that. Someone posted it a few months ago. But during this age of COVID, time is not absolute.

That explains it - there's no GPAnalysis record because they were sold as a pair.

They didn't, because I have a "CGC rejection" (book too thick to encapsulate) notice that goes with one of my copies... I think I bought it from someone who tried to submit 10 years ago.

There must be slabs that are thick enough now - or the ones that got graded are really smushed in there.

Yes, CGC slabbed them. They are the only ones in the pop report.

I view that as a bargain. Raw is $150 or so. 9.6 condition is very rare. $350 is amazing.

1:20 variants on a common issue are typically $80+ in 9.8. If you deem that a $10-20 raw, you can see how a rare Unity TPB can be 3x even in 9.6, let alone getting both in that condition. Plus the books are decades old at this point.

I had a raw set. I thought they were mint as they were never opened at all. Boy was i wrong when i bought that slabbed set. That slabbed set looks incredible.

I never dug in and picked these up for my collection.
I'd be very pleased with a Unity Omnibus though.

These big slabs are very prone to cracking on the side and on the top. I bought some Disney trades in slabs and half arrived cracked but even the ones that did not feel very fragile. The cases are not well designed to hold thick books as there is too much hollow space.

Since we're talking about the price guide, Greg, are there plans to update? I noticed that there are quite a few recent books that aren't on there. Is it just lack of time?
