Is it too late to save Valiant?

Poll ended at Mon Apr 26, 2021 12:07:15 pm

Yes it’s too late. The damage is done since DMG took over. The company can’t recover the readership it’s lost.

No there’s still time. A change in direction is all that’s needed (explain in the comments).

Does DMG Valiant have a future?

Post by Dallow Spicer1 »

Heather Antos has left VEI, could this spark a return to better books from Valiant or is the problem rife throughout the company since DMG took over?

Have Valiant bosses looked at the sales and feedback and learned the error of their ways in time for the company to turn around its fortunes?

Is it better to end the current DMG Valiant set up and hope for a better relaunch in a few years?

Thoughts?

I think there’s still time to save Valiant but only with a radical shift in direction and a return to the style of books we had under Dinesh’s reign. Whoever has been in charge of hiring editors since DMG took over and has green lit the garbage produced has got to go.

Still time but it really depends on what's happening next?

What's up David Wohl's sleeve and what's that THE UNIVERSE IS NOT ABSOLUTE teaser about?

Valiant was barely making an impact before DMG's takeover. What's come out since is non-existent to the wider comic audience and laughably bad to those of us dumb enough to keep buying.

I am surprised every time an issue shows up in my pull box that Valiant hasn't folded.

On a long enough time scale, even Valiant, like the once mighty statue of Ozymandias, shall so be dust.

I am personally very interested to see what kind of personality Dave Wohl will bring to the table for the Valiant line from here on out (assuming he is sticking around)... a very long time ago he was the assistant editor on the whole New Universe line for two years at Marvel just after Jim Shooter left...

(And I know, he’s had plenty of editing and writing experiences in comics ever since then as well :) )

First thing that has to happen (IMO) is the lying has to stop. When they (DMG) make a mistake own it and move on. Stop trying to hide everything, it just doesn’t work. Keep Abnett! He did the best title they have had. Stop rebooting. The most important thing (that they have not had) get a solid direction. This is supposed to be a shared universe, yet it hasn’t been in years. They need one person with a clear idea where this should go. We can accept changes but be smart. You know, the opposite of what XO and Savage have been. Stop saying that every title is the best thing ever. We can decide that on our own. I hope it’s not to late.

According to the Pre-Order Edition of Rai #10, the title/series/story has just been paused.

Abnett says/writes that he will return and continue the storyline.
