Thanks, Rico. I freely admit, I'm pretty damned pleased with those results.
Not to be a dim-bulb, but I don't know if you're seriously interested in any of the above or not. However, if you are, I've now sold (or am still in pending negotiations for) 13 of the 18 books from this group. I've already updated my slab WTS thread to reflect some of those, and will be doing so again very shortly; but as of now, I'll probably still have about five of them left without any current takers, so by ALL means, LMK if there was something specific you were interested in.
Either way, thanks for the props .

My latest CGC submittals FINALLY got graded *UPDATED 08/29*
Okay, gang; the results from my "follow-on" (renewal) submission are finally back, and here's the *AMAZING* results of that group --
ALL of the following received a CGC 9.8 NM/MT Blue Label:
- Harbinger #8 1:125 Lemire variant (Really sharp, tough-to-garner copy!)
- RAI #1 GOLD Edition (As of today, this is the ONLY CGC 9.8 copy !!)
and the best of the lot (drumroll, please)...
- Eternal Warrior #5 1:50 Mack variant (Gorgeous copy, and exceptionally difficult to attain. Needless to say, it's still the ONLY CGC 9.8 copy !!)
And, although I promise this wasn't supposed be a "tease", ALL of these beautiful slabs are already *ON HOLD*, and my slab WTS thread will be updated accordingly:

I'm very late to the party here, ...... but I (think) I was the first person to see these books (I bought them from Atom! (I think at Phoenix) when they 1st came out. before the doors even opened, I went to the table and I opened the boxes and search through.... and they all had small little nicks here and there....BloodShot wrote:Well, finally got results of my most recent submittal group, and just in time for my birfday, no less .
This batch's results were as follows:
- Summer of Valiant 4-in-1 TPB CGC 9.8 (one of currently only two existing 9.8 copies; an exceptionally tough pull !!)
I did not see any that were "perfect" and I looked for a bunch. I'm not surprised that there are VERY few in 9.8.

And, to clarify, you'll note that was almost a year ago that I garnered that 9.8...and as of today, that's still the only other 9.8 copy. If I'm not mistaken, Chris (ckb) got the first one so-graded.
Again, as you said, extremely tough to find one that's virtually flawless; enough to hopefully garner a 9.8 with, anyway. I purchased five copies myself, and went through probably a stack of at least 15-20 others, and only one out of all of those met my 9.8 pre-screen criteria. Definitely two or three legitimate 9.6 candidates in the bunch (the last of which is still in my primary raw WTS thread), but certainly no better. Lots of upper and/or lower spine corner nicking, or a stray cover bend somewhere.

In my post above there's a "qualifier" about these three most recent slabs at the end which states:
ALL of these beautiful slabs are already *ON HOLD*.
However, if for some reason that changes or I'm extremely fortunate and somehow garner a second copy, you'll be the first to know !

I looked through 2 huge stacks of those summer books and I didn't find anything anywhere near a 9.6. I would probably call my raw copy a 9.2. It's a shame since they were expensive.
How long was the turnaround on these books? I'm especially jealous of the Lemire cover. My raw has a bent corner:(

My latest CGC submittals FINALLY got graded *UPDATED 08/29*
Well, this last batch was a coupon (membership renewal) submission, and was supposed to have been the same turn-around time as Modern Fast Track, which is still listed as 15 business days. Goofy thing is, this was actually my first submittal group (of three in a row), and it was actually the last one to get graded. In fact, it took so much longer than follow-on submittal group #2 (about 14 total days longer, in fact) that I had to break down and call them to ensure there were no issues with the submission. Obviously there weren't, but they did tell me to ensure to pass the word that renewal submissions (which are done under the "Standard" tier) are running about seven to ten (business) days longer than listed.nycjadie wrote:How long was the turnaround on these books?
