Magnus 0 CGC - card or no?

Post by Chiclo »

My wife was cataloguing a box of CGC slabs and we ran across a Magnus 0 CGC SS 9.6 slab. The label doesn’t say if the comic includes the card or not. Is it safe to assume that since the card is not mentioned on the label, that the comic does not have one?

The version with the card says "Mail-Order Edition" and has the note about the card:

The version without the card doesn't say anything:

But there's always a chance that CGC used the wrong database entry. :?

Thanks greg, that is exactly what I was looking for.

I never did go much for slabs and this box of slabs has been fun looking through and confusedly asking “Where did this Harbinger 1 4.5 come from?” The eBay receipt was still in the bag for the slab, $1.04 on eBay. Shipped under $9. Not all of these slabs have such clear provenance, however.

I think there is a more important question here. How in the heck do you get your wife to catalog your books? And how good of a job does she do?

I’d be afraid my wife would push me to sell my hoard if I tried this wonderful ploy.

She got a new laptop and in the process of migrating computers, she decided she is no longer happy with Comic Collector Live and moved to another program, which will involve re-entering our 90-or-so boxes of comics. She started with the slabs. She enjoys this sort of ontological pursuits. And she is good at cataloguing the comics.

There is a huge stash of CGC 9.8's on comiclink right now 12 copies, wonder if it was from one consignor.

What are you moving to? I'm still on it, but CCL is basically abondonware so I cataloged everything on League of Comic Geeks a couple years ago. For free, it's decent and regularly updated, but definitely lacking in QC.

ComicBase. She is disappointed in the qc, especially for the money. She liked how ccl had things organized. But, she says the software is better and she likes the statistical functions. She says the fields are more customizable.

There is prescience here. She has been... encouraging me to thin the herd. She is a comic fan and understands, but she also understands that my collection needs some curation, in that I need to get rid of some of the filler. She points out we are on long box 36 of 75 (just the long boxes) and we are already over 11,000 comics.

I feel the pain. My collection is 180-200 shorts. And it’s pretty curated!
