ebay raises fees - comic listings drop

Post by Doorman »

not sure where this should be posted, but i figured this might be an appropriate area.

anywho, i've been tracking used comic market data in my blog. recently, ebay announced that they were lowering their FVF fee (but now applying it to shipping, as well). this will effectively raise the amount of fees that they collect from sellers.

sooooo - guess what! the amount of comic listings plummeted by 15.5%. the biggest change since i started keeping track of the numbers.

looks like Mile High has left ebay near-completely. They currently have 41 listings.

that's certainly a strong reason for the sudden drop in listings.

with the new fee structure in mind, they might be retooling their shipping prices before listing their inventory again.

anybody notice how they forced that new "automatic reimbursement payment" pop up feature on the seller accounts before you can list anything? they are something else.

I just had a listing sell for $55 and ebay took out $6 in fees. That's over 10%!!!

I gotta find another place to sell. This is BS.

I say heck with auction style auctions. Just give people a site to sell their crap for a very low fee instead of this Goodfellas crap eBay is pulling!
