For Svair and anyone else wondering about the Previews version of this book. Here it be from Aug 1996:

Now I wouldn't mind finding a stapled copy of this issue as well...anyone have one to trade? Part 1 of 'Starting Over' is in this same issue.
"Did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts...?"

Armorines was such a simple game to beat, I can't imagine anyone ever needing a strategy guide for it.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

I'm operating solely from memory here, but there were two different COAs. One was like a thank you from Diamond (or Capitol?) and the other was a more straightforward COA like with the others. There's a catch though....if I remember correctly, they were both just Xeroxed. No fancy paper, no seals nothing incredibly special.

Can anyone back me up on this?

Ninjak gold promo card

Post by worldsbestcomics »

I'm not sure if it is already on the list somewhere but I got a gold-bordered 6x8 card of Ninjak from my LCS back in the day. He said it was supposed to be some kind of limited promo for the comic. I see that it is DJSpectre's avatar. Nice!

I have never seen one with a different COA then the one from Diamond I have seen and own a few without anything but it's the same signature from Cliff Van Meter with the same pen and place on the issue...

I do seem to remember him getting miffed about something, but I didn't realize it bothered him enough to leave. Go figure....

Previews VH2 "Starting Over" 7 Parter

Post by Helios »

I'm new to the boards, but I could not help noticing that this is not listed here . . is it somewhere else maybe?
Previews ran the 7 part "Starting Over" comic as an intro to the VH2 universe. It has never been reprinted to my knowledge and contains the first appearances of the VH2 characters Magnus, X-O, Ninjak, Ivar, Trinity Angels, and Bloodshot (with a partial Origin), as well as many secondary characters like Calamity's mother and Quantum and Woody's fathers.
Written by Tom Peyer, Penciled by Steven Butler (The only Valiant Universe Art by this great artist) and inked by Ray Kryssing. 26 pages of original story in all. It ran in Previews Vol.VI #8 (8/96)-Vol.VII #2 (2/97)
If this is already on the boards somewhere than I apologize for the duplication, but I do believe that the story, artists and writer should be added to the archive section. Thanks for the great site ! :thumb:
