Many - most of these are relatively inexpensive - but TOUGH to find.

Find what YOU are happy with.

Ah yes, this is a great thread and now it's been mentioned on OTV. There's still lots of items listed here I have to track down.

Interesting that Magnus #1 was planned for July 1990... that means it was delayed for 8 or 9 months. :hm:

It's also interesting that Shooter didn't specify VALIANT in all caps in that first publication. I wonder if that was an oversight on CBG's part, or if he decided to make it all capital letters later. :hm: :hm:

I wish they had published the reprints to Magnus as TPBs.

Thanks to all for sharing this article.

I just recently purchased a box full of ADVANCE COMICS catalogs from the 90s and your information/list is a bit messed up. The following isn't complete either. I only have issues from 92-96 (and a few are missing, too [58, 76-77, 82, 84-86, 88]), however, I tried to list everything that seems interesting. I'd scan the most important stuff but the scanning function of my printer sucks; everything gets heavily pixelated and it's not worth the effort. Can anyone recommend a decent scanner for jobs like this?

Advance Comics #50 - FEB 93 -
- Future Force cover
- Interview with John Ostrander
Advance Comics #53 - MAY 93 -
- X-O Manowar cover
- Interview with Bob Layton
Advance Comics #55 - JUL 93 -
- Deathmate cover
- Interview with Jim Lee
Advance Comics #59 - NOV 93 -
- Ninjak cover
- Interview with Mark Moretti
Advance Comics #60 - DEC 93 -
- Interview with Kevin Van Hook (about Bloodshot)
- Interview with Mike Baron & Steve "The Dude" Rude (about the Nexus/Magnus crossover)
Advance Comics #66 - JUN 94 -
- cover says "Upper Deck unlocks the VALIANT FILES!"
- Bob Layton interview (about Chaos Effect)
- Valiant Feature: The Story Thus Far....MASTER DARQUE (2 pages)
Advance Comics #67 - JUL 94 -
- Valiant Feature: The Story Thus Far....GEOMANCERS (2 pages)
Advance Comics #68 - AUG 94 -
- Valiant Feature: The Story Thus Far....THE IMMORTAL BROTHERS (2 pages)
- Interview with Bob Hall (about TW and SM; 3 pages)
- Timewalker back cover
Advance Comics #69 - SEP 94 -
- Interview with Mike Baron (about HARD Corps)
[NO Valiant Feature in this one]
Advance Comics #70 - OCT 94 -
- Interview with Tony Bedard (about the future timeline)
- Valiant Feature: The Story Thus Far....MAGNUS ROBOT FIGHTER (2 pages)
Advance Comics #71 - NOV 94 -
- Interview with Jorge Gonzalez (about X-O)
- Valiant Feature: The Story Thus Far....X-O MANOWAR (2 pages; the index page lists this as "Preview: X-O MANOWAR")
- X-O Manowar/Wolfbridge back cover
Advance Comics #72 - DEC 94 -
- Interview with Bernard Chang (about The Visitor)
- The Visitor back cover
Advance Comics #73 - JAN 95 -
- Valiant Feature: The Story Thus Far....BLOODSHOT (2 pages)
- Interview with Kevin Van Hook (about Bloodshot/Rampage)
Advance Comics #74 - FEB 95 -
- Valiant is now listed as Voyager (!?!?) facepalm
- Windjammer launches (first teasers for Bar Sinister & Starslayer)
- also: wicked Birthquake teaser with the Valiant logo halfway drowned in a sea of lava
- Valiant Feature: The Story Thus Far....NINJAK (2 pages)
- Interview with Mark Moretti (about Ninjak)
Advance Comics #75 - MAR 95 -
- frickin' Solar/Brave New World cover
- Bart Sears in Acclaim Spotlight
- Birthquake teaser & solicits up front; lots of additional teaser on the first few pages....
- because one month after eventually listing Valiant as Voyager they are now listed under "Acclaim" (hence the spotlight) facepalm facepalm
- smart move though
Advance Comics #78 - JUN 95 -
- Acclaim Spotlight on Paul Gulacy
- The Evolution of X-O's Armor (2 pages)
- also this month: Rook Zero (just in case)
Advance Comics #79 - JUL 95 -
- Acclaim Spotlight: Interview with Timathy Truman ("Ground Zero in the Lost Land")
- "Who is the Visitor?" article
- PunX teaser ("Comics with BALLS!")
- Solar teaser ("NUKE 'EM if they can't take a joke!")
Advance Comics #80 - AUG 95 -
- PunX disclaimer
- PunX preview (4 pages; ending with Solar mentioning that he doesn't want to have anything to do with them)
- EW: Bullets teaser
- OUTCAST: Out of Luck teaser
- TUROK: Hunt or Be Hunted teaser
- X-O: Blast From the Past teaser
Advance Comics #81 - SEP 95 -
- X-O Manowar Rogues' Gallery (2 pages)
- Turok Rogues' Gallery (2 pages)
- the same teaser as in the previous issue (random rant)
