Was this cheaper back in the day?

I don't know HOW I got one way back when...

And didn't have ANY gold or VVSS....
Well, I guess it was proabaly cover price at some point. :P

$75 was too high today apparently - ended with no bidders.
That's a decent price. I already have one, but if I didn't probably would have snagged it, I put it top 5 most difficult to find out of the valiant/acclaim lineup.

I'm watching, but I don't think I'll bid. It only has three or four items I need in my collection.

Winning this auction, though, would leave the winner with only three to four items missing.

Funny that it doesn't have a full set of Unity cards.

I bought these :) Am SUPER excited to have a cool set of Valiant-related cards :)

I have a good old stack of stock right now and over the years since it's release, probably half a million books have passed by, but i have not seen a copy with my own eyes in the Uk since its release or '93.
I do not own a copy and and to my knowledge never have, thus making it far scarcer from where im sitting than many a HTF Valiant books i have had 5 of that sell for $50-300 each.

I'm sure the seller is happy. I was beginning to think I had missed the boat on a few $25-$35 auctions, but I see from the responses here I'm not the crazy one.

At least about this one thing.

With Ebay, this forum and other Internet resources the big pond isn't such a great divide anymore. I hear what you're saying about things not getting much circulation. Perhaps people are just sitting on their copies similar to your 5 HTF books. Supply and demand rule the marketplace.

I seem then on ebay.com often, though i spot the embossed every day.
It clearly is underpriced on those lovely high grade raw copies, i'd love tp have a stud on this book, always said no at £50 way back when, ill wait for either a 50p filler or a $10 bargain :)

FWIW I was one of the bidders for the EW Gold. I originally planned to stop @ 50 bucks but figured I'd go higher today...but the other guy (or gal) wanted it more. I'll be keeping an eye out for the next one though.

Is there something unusual about the TPB? Couldn't you just buy the comics for cheaper?

Low Print Run and yes you could buy the individual issues cheaper, but for completist it is a must.

Nobody actually wants to read them in any format, the TPB is just semi-tough (relatively).

I agree - the cover is the best part - but I am an aforementioned completist, and this is the only Valiant/Acclaim TPB or HC I do not have...so nobody else bid! :)

Huh, its been a long time since I've read it (I didn't read it during my current valiant read-through because I stored it with my Predator comics) but I remember really liking this story. Lee Weeks was one of my favorites artists at the time...

You guys have me curious. I am gonna have to dig out my comics (or just buy one of the sets on ebay for $0.25 :P ).

White Knuckle Scorin' Nintendo Compilation LP with $50 starting bid. I knew that the CD and cassette exist but I didn't know that also made an LP. I didn't know LPs were still popular back in the 90s - or that there were LPs for video games. For those who don't know, Voyager/Valiant did the art for this product. I don't remember if it was credited or not.

Remember when I visited Canada in '92 that I noticed the LPs were almost gone, unlike in Europe (where this seller is). Maybe one year later it was the same in Europe also.
