I love that smell. I love cracking open an old book and putting my nose down in it for a big whiff. Aaaahh!

Have a possibility on 16 boxes tomorrow, but it comes with boxes of cards, games and figures as well, things I don't deal in. But hey, you never know!
So I bought 16 boxes of comics, with several boxes more of odd stuff (sports cards, video games, action figures - the kids are happy!). The condition is immaculate. It's the heart of the 90s, so I have tons of 9.8 candidates for Knightfall and Reign of Superman

I paid more than I normally do, but I have tons of great CGC candidates after looking at the first half. My guesses:
3 copies of 1st War Machine - 9.8
GI Joe 1 9.4
Various early Doomsday 1sts and cameos
6-7 copies of 1st Carnage
Key early Image that get good returns in 9.8 - Spawn, Youngblood, Pitt
Moon Knight final issues - 9.8
Uncanny 150-200 - 9.6-9.8
2 copies Batman Adventures Annual 1 (3rd appearance Harley Quinn). These are unread, and I think will come in 9.8.

Might be a really great collection if I can get some of these keys in 9.8.

If anyone is looks for some awful glut comics in 9.8, let me know

Where do you spot these? CL? I picked up a nearly complete run of IM (and all IM offshoots) that way for $125. He'd sold off like the first ten issues and #55 but it was a steal.

Oh wow! Yeah, almost exclusively CL. In the Bay Area, I had a network, but here, not so much. I'm working on it.

I have a lot of fun with it, but there's never enough time. Right now, I've got tons of boxes, but no time to go through them. Sold a ton of boxes to Brian right before I left Oakland, just because I couldn't go through them, and didn't want to move with them.

That's the main issue, easy to buy, lengthy to sell.

I try to force myself to stay within a limit of long-boxes, it forces me to make the tough decisions that I wouldn't otherwise. :)

I also bought a small collection for not a lot of money. It was primarily Batman heavy so I wanted all the Tec and Batman issues for my runs (a bunch in the 500s, etc), but it turns out I didn't need that many. I already brought down the lots into smaller cheaper lots, so it will be a scratch buy but it will fill in a number of holes (non keys) in my runs for nothing.

I think I picked up a big Defenders collection from you a few years back.

That's completely possible! I remember having quite a large lot about that time.

Another small purchase, but it included some key books. As you guys may know I'm a big fan of cheap low grade keys, if they present well I feel you can't go wrong in terms of not risking much. I just grabbed a few books from a guy in a cash and deal trade, this is what I got:
X-Men 2, GSXM 1, X-Men 12, a spattering of X-Men in the 50s/60s and a bunch of Wolverine books (Mini series, two copies of #1, origins, etc, these are for the most part high grade aside from the mini). Pretty happy with what I bought, haven't decided if there's anything there I want to part with yet.

Sweet! I got a load of nice silver books yesterday - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd appearance of Teen Titans (including first Wonder Girls; 1st new Green Arrow costume by Adams; 1st I-Ching Wonder Woman and a few high grade "mod" WW books; 1st appearance of Jonah Hex; 1st X-Factor; Phantom Stranger 1, and a few other odd silver hero books

Got a deal in place for about 7k comics, at about less than $1/piece. :o Huge deal for me, but there's lots of quality. Unfortunately I won't have time to go through the comics much because of work/study commitment. What I can tell you is there is three long boxes crammed full of just ASM alone.

Just bought 750ish golden age Comics for $1500. No hero stuff. First appearance Woody Woodpecker etc. I'll peruse tonight. Mostly Walter Lanz stuff. Single owner.

Awesome! Can't go wrong paying a few bucks each for golden anything, regardless of condition!

Just bought a group of Elflord comics, the ultra rare black and white ones from 1980. Only paid $30 for the lot, included original artwork by Blair himself.

A side note, while digging through books is there something we should be looking for? I'm referring to separate identifiers or variants that aren't obvious. Ignoring the price variants of the 70s-90s, I think the bubbilicious inserts (not sure if they have any value) and the rare marvel newsstand price variants of the modern age, is there anything else?

I tried deleting some old posts via tapatalk but couldn't, lol....

Anyways, I mentioned awhile back about some guy that was rambling on with a bunch of nonsense when I called him regarding his collection. Here is the ad.
http://www.kijiji.ca/v-art-collectibles ... nFlag=true" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And yes, most of what he posted in the ad is what he said in our conversation, and the funniest part is picture these words being described in a French accent!
