Not one, but TWO pages from XO #1.

Looks to be from the same seller (using different seller IDs)

I'd love to see an IDW Artist's Edition of Barry's VALIANT work. There's so much good art out there, I hope it's only a matter of time.

Yeah. How about both the pages were enhanced by BWS. So, they are not the original art, anymore.

I bet 1K to 1.5 is more reasonable. A couple nice costume pages sold for 2K ish on ebay.

Which of the two pages do you prefer?

I like page 2 more than the other, with the external shot from space. (wish they had a cameo from Solar in the book... took until XO #0 for that story to be told)

I think a lot of pages that BWS sold via this website/studio included enhanced inks. Kind of a toss up for me. Normally I would want the art to be as close as possible to the published page.
BWS is a master artist though. Any additional enhancements by him to make the page more athletically pleasing as opposed to "fit for publication" would very likely be welcomed.
His work has always been desirable. I think in the last few years the price and demand has only increased. Makes me wish I hadn't passed some of them up years ago.

Dan, what kind of prices was he charging at the time? When I inquired 2 years ago, he wanted 2K for his last page from XO 1, and his Unity pages. But that was after VEI started publishing.

I'm torn by the thought of him enhancing the pages. I think it limits the appeal of his pages, but they do look nice.

I saw some people complaining about the sparseness in BWS's valiant work (with him not handling the inks). I see their point, some of his valiant pages (Unity, XO, etc) are not nearly as detailed as his 80s/90s Marvel work (Solar being a strong exception).

His studio manager back then sent me some photocopies in the late 90's or early 2000's.
Prices then were in the $400-$500 range. At the time I thought it was a lot but in retrospect they were not bad.
