WTB - CGC 9.8 Harbinger #28 + #29 (1992 Series)

Post by DirtbagSailor »

I have submitted these books a few times, with cruddy results. Would very much like to improve my VH1 Harbinger Registry set.

Also looking for CLEAN/SHARP/NICE Harbinger TPBs (2nd Printing).

You talking about the Bluebird TPB from the VH1 series? If so, I know I have a sealed one....The outside baggie is a bit dusty and dirty, but the TPB and everything else should be in great shape as it's pretty much always sat in a box

There were three versions:

Harbinger TPB (1st Print) pollybagged with Harbinger #0 (Blue)
Harbinger TPB (Bluebird Variant)
Harbinger TPB (2nd Print) not pollybagged

I am looking for the 2nd Print, as it has been not only the hardest to find, but also the most condition sensitive of the three.

Sadly I think the other TPB I have of this is a second print, but when I got it I was young with no idea of the rarity and was basically my reader version of reading the early Harbinger titles. I'd have to check, but I know when I bought it there was no polybag on it and had no copy of issue #0 as I had to buy a #0 loose.

But if it is the elusive 2nd print, I'd doubt you'd want it. Without having it in front of me, I'm going to guess the condition is VF- to VF+ at best.

Most seem to be like that actually.

I have three graded copies, and the best I have obtained is a 9.4.

Hey DBS:

Refresh my memory, can you tell if it is a second printing without looking inside? I will be visiting some comic book stores this weekend and next and will be on the hunt for you. :thumb:

Thanks,

Michael

I'm out to sea this month and next, so I cannot check to be 100% certain. However, I am 99.9% certain that the only way to check is inside (or possibly the bar code? :? ).

I believe it's on the inside front page. Clearly says 2nd print. Does not come polybagged. They often have that chipping that is found on squarebound books. I have never found a 9.8 raw. I might have a 9.6 copy, but I haven't sent it in.

Just saw two copies this afternoon and you have to look inside the first page to see Second Printing. Like you mentioned, the corners were all chipped away. :(
