SDCC 2011
Yes, it is ridiculously early for this.
-BUT-
There is a rumor that 4-day passes with preview night have already sold out.
Nuts.

"That's crazy," said James Parenti, owner of comic book store Artifex Entertainment Comic Book & Cards in San Diego, and a regular attendee since the 1980s.
Parenti said it used to be easy to get in, but organizers started limiting the number of attendees only recently.
"It made it an exclusive kind of thing," he said. "Now passes are selling out; it's a party where you can't get in, and you want to get in."
Bill Harris of San Diego, who's been going to Comic-Con since the 1970s, was walking the huge expo hall on Friday when he noticed the queue.
On Saturday, he bought tickets for himself and some family and friends.
On Sunday, he got in line at 2 p.m. to buy a ticket for his adult daughter and arrived at the window a little after 3 p.m., moments after tickets sold out.
"I was shocked at first and bummed out," Harris said. "I had to call my daughter and tell her she didn't get Preview Night. It was not a parent's favorite moment."

I love SD, but they have to either add a couple of days to the con or move it to a larger facility. After this past week I personally have no desire to be in the con on Sat. and Sun. it's just too crowded.iggy101us wrote:Sold out per Comic-Con rep here.Dr. Solar wrote:Keep in mind, this was on Bleeding Cool, so who knows if it is true?

Start a website that chronicles the convention sketches you get. You already have the first 10 posts written on this board, put one or two up a week.Elveen wrote:If this is true I will be SUPER BUMMED! I was FOR SURE getting a 4 day pass w/ preview night for next year. If I would have known I would have bought my pass on Sat.
You seem to be writing these up anyway for this board, so it is very little extra work. Just post date the first few posts to be before SDCC this year. You could even take all the things you wrote from last year and post date them, get a couple years of posts in.
Then, use this to get a press pass if you can't get a regular pass.

I might have to do that.
I'll need to do some research.

It might have the added bonus of helping to promote the CF sketches.

Don't sweat it too much. When the con released more tickets a few weeks ago, from people who cancelled, 4 day passes were included in that batch.Elveen wrote:If this is true I will be SUPER BUMMED! It is kind of shocking though that they are saying they are already sold out. Sounds like the time is coming when everyone will have to buy their tickets a year in advance.

They're not sold out of passes, just 4 day passes WITH preview night. I'm not sure how many of those were offered in the weeks before the con.Crow331 wrote:Don't sweat it too much. Artifex is another dumpy store. More into gaming than comics. No backissues.iggy101us wrote:Sold out per Comic-Con rep here.Dr. Solar wrote:Keep in mind, this was on Bleeding Cool, so who knows if it is true?

" In 2009, it sold out after 6 months. In 2010, it sold out in 2 months. On Saturday, Comic-Con International 2011 sold out in 7 HOURS (200x faster than last year if you’re keeping track). "
