First con
If I want to attend my first comic convention, and my goals are to meet some artists, get some valiant swag and not catch a communicable disease, which one should I attend? My LCS recommended the one in North Carolina.

I should add that dragon con is the closest, but I'm not sure how comic-related it is.

I'm a west coast guy, so I can't chime in on the east coast scene.
But obv., San Diego is the top.
