:hm: it's been a while. I guess I did not care for the story. If I remember correctly, I think it was one of those things where there was not much background at first, which is ok if the story is still good (kinda like Planetary, where you find out about the backstory later on), but I guess I just did not like it. There characters seemed like they could be interesting, but it just did not grab me.

I really wasn't that big a fan of Tom Strong either but really liked Top 10 though, definately a different read from your normal superhero fare :thumb:

Unfortunately, I've heard of comics from the early years of Image that might prove that concept wrong.
I kinda liked his WildCats run though
Dude, WildCATs Vol 1 run was awesome. It's peak was at the begining and then towards the end it was convoluted but WildCATs is ok in my book. Now (IMO) if you want a good read... Cyberforce. That was(is) always my favorite, even back in the day. I'm pretty sure I have a complete Cyberforce set, probably missing an ashcan here and there.

But I had heard good things about Tom Strong, gonna have to do some research and see whats the deal-eo.

I think the strong suit of any book MUST be the writing. This is one of the things that I like about Shooter. For some reason, he is able to capture my attention and make me care about the characters pretty quickly. And there IS a background that I think he meters out enough to keep you coming back month after month.

Planetary... now there is a book. I really like it, but man.. I could not tell you one thing about the history of it's characters.

From what little I recall about Tom Strong was it was a little too campy (I think thats the word I'm looking for anyways) and not adult themed enough for my liking :thumb: and still working on completing my Cyberforce run also read the first 10 issues of the first Wetworks series which was pretty decent so can't wait to complete that run also :thumb:

Second series of Cyberforce I could not stand AT ALL... I have them stowed away somewhere never to see the light of day again... ever. I thought it was garbage. (IMO)

Planetary is great for sure. The history of the characters comes out through the story. Great, great read.

Ok, may not be Du ~ but this is were I hang out.
Plus Marvel Charactors are a DU to me, as the characters get killed of all the time (the only diffetrnace is they come back)

I got this for £228 pounds ~ well £230 keep the change.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0313523723

Every apperance of moonknight. right up untill current series number 26.

A brief check of werewolf by night 32 I would grade it at 9.2 maybe 9.4. I will send this in to cgc via a board member one day.

I don't know if any others are worth anything ~ not to matter as they are being bound. So £1 per book. I don't think that is bad. Plus if the werewolf by night is graded at 9.2 thats about $250 Us dollars in itself.

And don't forget that Don Perlin created or helped create Moon Knight and definately drew him for the first time in the Werewolf by Night series !!!

Moon Knight is awesome, man. Good buy on your part... too expensive for me though.
Bill Sienkiewicz is the best known and most prolific MK artist.
I would argue that... yeah Bill is great but it was Perlin's Moon Knight that got ME interested in the character, big time.

£1 pound a comic, their is some rear ones. I was thinking of flipping the werewolf by night 32, which I hope would pay for the rest of the comics :thumb:

There fore I would get the whole run for free 8-) . As I brought a low grade werewolf 32 recently,.

I agree that no one does MK like PLatt, but whilst i do like the madness of that early style and the scritchy scracthyness, i do draw the lin on his work after that.

If you check Soul saga ( started off at Top cow) by Image you can see he spent way too long under R Liefeld and no editor.
All his pics are face on, no angles no vanishing points, no realy dynamics.

Clearly someone with talent, but no direction.

SO anyway to the whole point of me being here in this section was to say we scored a massive 27 boxes of mixed tat sunday for a greta price.

Included were so many DU's im stoked.

Drift already pulled a scary amount of Marvel DC and some DU's ( maybe 8 boxes worth) and i must have got about four boxes of just DU's.

Chunks more Eclipse, Caliber, Now, Innovation and a few COmico too.

I did add some more publishers too.

I will have to get back to doing my main list again as there are about 10 long boxes to cross off.

Gotta love this life man.

My favourite find in the boxes of tat were some Dark Horse Comics Greatest World books.
I say that tongue in cheek first, as when we first cracked them open it was mish mash of smelly old wee stained bags, some blatantly low grade smushed nonsense that may not have had any resale value before becoming spare toilet roll candidates
After a few looks i eventually found a couple of premium books.
They were the Barb Wire Platinum and the Rebel Gold covers.

I know they probably only hit about $5 ish each, but these are never seen in the UK to be fair.

There were also a number of signed books, which means a chunk of these must have originally come from an American private collector as they seem to have all been signed at conventions and contain a good hit of small press names.
Again no real value, but pretty cool for pennies.

So after sorting the boxes we have less damaged comics than we thought.
I can see potentially four long boxes to sell in bulk as reading copies.

Maybe as high as 8 long indy boxes left that are nice vf+/nm- books.
8 marv/DC in vf+/nm
Drift had close to 8 long ( greedy blighter) and i had three long.

I must really be getting into the thick of the Caliber set by now.
I have also been grabbing some pretty obscure Eclipse, innovation and more, so nice to see even more this time round (at not one penny cost to me oh yay).
A lot of my DU's are in mid grade as im happy to have any copy till im complete and then can upgrade slowly.

Hopefully another dealer will get bored of carrying (what they consider) junk they cant sell and let us have it for next to nothing.

maybe next month :)

I loves me bargains.

Don't want to jix it. But its a ripper, and by pure bordom chance.

Plus he has to other books I need, at 1/2 guide which I may go for pending postal charge.

I got something at a steal that everyone wants to pay mega bucks for!

He sent a photo and it looks mint.

Last issues always have the tiniest print runs and, according to the law of supply/demand, they often get to command a premium price.

But, that's only if the comic store owner knows all of his prices...
