I would...

But I want to keep it 'intact.'

Sad...

But I have one of everything in the 'intact' version.

When the Hardcover comes from paradise, since it is signed, it will more than likely be open.

That one, I will read.

Sad, isn't it? I still regret purchasing a SOLAR hardcover and opening it. Then, waiting YEARS to find a nice enough one to keep intact. So, I spent $40 at the comic store today - and have nothing to read.

Time for some CLASSIC Valiant (not-so) CLASSIC Original Valiant stuff.

My LCS didn't get a copy in so they are ordering one for me for next week.

Kevin - That does seem quite OCD, but more power to ya. I guess everyone on this board has some degree of OCD or we wouldn't be here

Eh? You can always open it :) Unless you are planning on re-selling it in the future.

I always wondered why all the HC are sealed.?

Bought two from my LCS and opened one.

Highlight of my day: turning to the new tale and reading

Alexandria, Egypt
Present Day

(emphasis mine)

VanHook brings it. Bloodshot, Gil, and even an EW flashback sequence. I'm always happy to see Perlin's Bloodshot. The art is nice. It's cool that the old-school rules still apply: Bloodshot's eyes only grow red when the nanite are working. The red circle on his chest isn't drawn, but was added by the colorist.

The foreword by VanHook and the original character design by Perlin were some nice bonus tidbits, as well.

Mt only regret? That the story is so short.

Thank you, VEI, for this wonderful gift.

I'm a very happy man.

True that. On a related note, the latest Heritage catalogue has a nice write-up on Don Perlin that is heavy on Valiant references and mentions the new hardcover.

Picked up my HC at the LCS today. Once I finished Shadowman #1 I flipped through the first 8 issues and then hungrily read the new story.

I loved it! It was much longer than I expected, and I loved that it revolved around my favorite character from Valiant...Eternal Warrior! Heck, this almost felt like it could have been a story added to an Eternal Warrior hardcover collection. :D

I loved Perlin's art! Yes I know it's "dated" in that 80's/90's style, but it brought back some great memories from reading these books in the 90's! His art is always solid which I really appreciate. I thought Vanhook's story and script were great as well. When (not if!) VEI puts out an Eternal Warrior hardcover collection they need to get Mr. Vanhook to write a new short story for that one as well!

Overall I love the hardcover, very happy with my purchase!

Thanks! I would've loved to have had a few more pages, myself!

Now, if they'll ever let me tell the story I pitched where Bloodshot confronts the Warrior with his findings after reviewing all the CCTV recordings in the various public places he was spotted in during his first year of adventures-- all showing that Gilad was present at most of those events, even the initial HEATHROW appearance...a story for another time, I suppose.

All my best,
