Shadowman 1 damaged?

Post by kevinbastos »

Anyone else get damaged versions of the 1:20 variants? My shop is trying to get replacements - and wouldn't even sell it to me. A crease on the front cover - maybe 1/2 inch long.
Hey, look! I have a podcast!

If I win an argument, it doesn't mean I'm right. It means I'm a better arguer.

In addition, I'm right.

Oh, I see one on mine - is yours over the symbol/rock near Shadowman's waist? Hmm...

Also... I didn't want to break the cool little seal sticker on my 1:50, but I can see through the bag that there are two teeny tiny creases on the spine, maybe 1/8th long. Not too big a deal - what would that do to the grading?

A big thanks to Valiant for trying to be pro-active on the damaged book complaints, I do appreciate the effort with the pre-bagged & boarded 1:50.

I just looked at mine which I thought was great, there is a small indent just above and behind Shadowman's rear belt pouch. It's very minor though.

As I mentioned in another thread, I purchased 25 copies to get the variants, all flawless. The only one to exhibit cover damage (extremely minor stresses along the spine) was the bagged 1:50.

Damned if ya do and damned if ya don't. Frustrating. But cheers to Valiant and Diamond for trying.

The 1:20 I got today had 2 nice big tears right on the cover. Another $16 wasted on a Valiant variant. :!:

I'm telling the guy not to pull anymore of them for me. I've wasted so much money on *SQUEE* up *SQUEE* copies of these high dollar variants, it's beyond ridiculous. The damage is so bad, I don't want them in my collection and if I were to sell them just to get rid of them, I'd be lucky to get a couple bucks for them.

The white spot at the top is a tear and the white spot under the title on the right is a big tear and a few nice big bends which don't show up in the scan. When I say "tear", I don't mean printer lines or something like that. I mean straight up the cover is torn.

$16 toilet paper.

Ouch no wonder you guys are complaining. I thought people were just being anal. I guess I have been lucky - none of the Valiant comics I have purchased have had more than the most minimal damage.

I'll post up some of the other variants that I've been so lucky to pay retail for when I get a chance.

I used to go to his old shop in Bethlehem 5-6 years ago. Would show up at 11AM to get my books and would see Oliver doing shots.
