Bloodshot H.A.R.D CORPs Speculation
when I first heard about this change to Bloodshot - it really worried me. If VEI is already making major changes to one of its flagship characters should we be worried about the long term financial health of Valiant? It felt a little like a spur of the moment gimmick that was motivated more by marketing than story. But the dots have been slowly connecting for me and it starting to make more and more sense now. This has been in the works from the beginning; from Kara talking to Bloodshot about her injured brother who was a soldier to the Nanites infecting and controlling the PRS Mainframe to H.A.R.D Corps coming back into the action after many years to enter into the Harbinger Wars mix.
When Harada expelled the nanite infected blood into Saturn and killed her and thus killed the nanites it tells me that when those nanites entered the P.R.S Mainframe they were there to stay and the only way to rid them from the MF was to DESTROY it! And I would think that this MF would be waaaay too valuable to destroy. In this incarnation of HARD Corps they work for P.R.S so it would make sense that (after the dust settles from the Harbinger Wars) that instead of their powers being activated by P.R.S Operators they would be controlled by the Nanite "Goldies" that now control PRS MF and headquarters. And naturally Bloodshot which has a link to the MF through the nanites would be the perfect leader for H.A.R.D Corps because of that. P.R.S would clean house and no longer be the "bad guys".
And to further the speculation, these nanites are microscopic machines, whose will and what programming are they bending to at this point? I think they were already showing signs of sentient behavior (and independence) when in Bloodshot #2 they tried to help Bloodshot from being reprogrammed. You could say its Bloodshot subconscious influencing the machines or maybe it was the machines rebelling against its original programming...? And when the nanites enter the P.R.S mainframe and fully integrate with another powerful machine that might have been the final step to its singularity - the point in time when it reached true independence and sentience and it became beyond re-programming - you either kill it now or you let it thrive and grow and watch as it gets bigger and stronger over time...

Re: Bloodshot H.A.R.D CORPs Speculation
Interesting bit of speculation.
I like it, but my favorite idea involving the new HARD Corps is still another persons idea (don't remember whose, or what thread this was actually in though). The idea was that someone (like Livewire I think) could project powers THROUGH the HARD Corps implants to them one at a time, but instead of the powers being stored in a machine or mainframe, they were actually borrowed from living psiots a.k.a. the Gen Zero kids themselves! So you'd have the soldiers at one end of the link and a psiot babysitting service at the other end. Of course, this would require the psiots involved to be either volunteers or prisoners and with where Harbinger Wars is going, I don't see Bloodshot leading the team that is imprisoning any of the kids again. On the other hand, if the HARD Corps are showing up soon and they already have the whole 'borrowed psiot powers' thing going on, then the tech already exists with the 'Livewire linkup' and is probably just relying on machinery already. Would have been a fun way to involve the kids in this title ongoing though, and yet keep them off the front lines.

Re: Bloodshot H.A.R.D CORPs Speculation
I think by the end of Harbinger Wars the Psiot kids will scatter in different directions with the bulk going into two groups - the "good guys" led by Cronus and Telic calling themselves Generation Zero and the "Evil Mutants" group led by Clem. I'm hoping "Generation Zero" is a monthly title at some point.
It would be smart to have some of the kids (especially the ones that really like Bloodshot and see him as a father figure) to stick around and help him, PRS and HARD Corps on their missions. Maybe have their powers filter through the mainframe ... but I wouldn't want the title to be overloaded by kids (that why I say branch them out into their own title, have a couple go bad, perhaps some join Harada or go solo, kill a couple off... etc) - there will be a bunch of HARD Corps agents to develop already to go along with trying to further develop the origin and back story of Bloodshot.
