This remains a consistently highly entertaining read and spectacle for me, adn has been VEI's most consistent book IMHO.

I have loved this story-lines Van Lente has built and I still hold out hope that he won't be leaving.

This was a another great issue, and I loved the pop culture references and cameos, as well as the building in of the established mythology of the book. I wish all comics were this good. :)
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

They must have had a blast writing and drawing this issue. The celeb cameos were great.

Also, I don't know whether they were direct influences, but there are several other works of fiction that this reminds me of greatly. First, American Gods. The gods in that book were stronger or weaker depending on the number of people that believed in them. This seems really similar. Not a copy, just a fun comparison.

Also, the time-travelly, child born in an alternate plane of existence or at least enhanced by it somehow, reminds me a lot of River Song in Doctor Who.

Anyways, these issues are a blast.
