I thought it was a fun read and a unique re-imagining of our favorite characters.
Worth the $3.99. I'll definitely be checking out the rest.

To each their own, but I'm not interested in an alternate universe/reimagining of the characters and universe I love. I get enough of that in the silly cartoon stories they stick in as filler for the 25th issues and such. I want more of the actual universe, in continuity, rather than the start of a silly multiverse.

Ditto that. Though if it does cause the Archie crowd to consider checking out Valiant, then I'm all for it.Phoenix8008 wrote:To each their own, but I'm not interested in an alternate universe/reimagining of the characters and universe I love. Anyone else catch the glimpse of what MORE than suspiciously looks like the Acclaim version of Solar in this comic?

Re: Valiant High #1 Discussion
I thought it was pretty fun. Gotta admit though, I'm a bit puzzled by some of the characterizations. For instance, in what world is Livewire not a total genius? Also, do Gilad and Armstrong have powers/are they immortal?
Also, I would love if Valiant High is like Stalinverse, but with Adele (Black Sheep) from Gen Zero pullingredients the strings instead of Kazmir.

Re: Valiant High #1 Discussion
Found out I could tie comixology to my Amazon account, so I went ahead and tried it out. It's a cute Archie/Sky High style story. I enjoyed it enough that I'll get them all, but I'd prefer print.
I'd definitely buy the mini in print. I'm really not a fan of digital. To me, digital is a backup format. I was an early adopter of digital with video, music, and books... but I still like to hold real comics.

Nice podcast! Even more fun listening to Sean & Jeff than reading the actual comic. Perhaps my first impression was a little bit too harsh. V-HIGH might be a little childish but it's a nice homage to the VU and its most "iconic" characters.grendeljd wrote:Sean & Jeff decided to put together a review episode of this digital-only comic - so if anyone would like to hear our OTV:VCR podcast discussing/reviewing this issue, please follow the link;

The janitor has got to be Jack. He appears in the shadows while trimming the hedges. It's not a scythe he's using but that'd be too obvious I guess.
Who's that red-eyed green alien supposed to be? LV-99? What other green alien is there in the VU?

.99 cents each issue now at comiXology. Got all 3. (For the record, digital sucks)
I only read issue 1 so far, but I enjoyed it a lot. Fun little read with lots of easter eggs.
3.5/5

Don't forget, same writer who is set to do the new Quantum and Woody. Worth checking out for that alone.
