Another great issue, story and art. I wonder... does Achillia need just one more kill, or one more victorious battle? Because if it's kill and she manages to take out just one of the Praetorian guard, she's officially free. That might play into this cliff hanger.

Could be a technicality that Nero & Caxus try to nail her on to keep her there... I do hope this fictional Achillia has the same fate as the actual historical gladiatrix of the same name - she will be a really cool character addition to the Valiant U of this era. I could see her getting involved in Antonius Axia's future adventures...

I think you guys missed something on the podcast (although I can't say for certain). I think one of the three girls that drown in the beginning is Craxus' daughter. Axia narrates that "...she's cursed. Or worse" -- the 'or worse' panel with the bodies being dragged out of the water. Later we hear Craxus say to Nero that he's lost a son and a daughter.
