The Visitor #1 Discussion
Not bad really. Listen to our discussion linked below. Trust that I always call it how I see it.

Re: The Visitor #1 Discussion
Really helped me fall asleep last night. Boring, rambling dialogue with no hook at all. Competent but generic looking art. An all-around snoozefest with, as pointed out on the podcast, poor depictions of real reactions and responses.

Re: The Visitor #1 Discussion
I occasionally go running on Roosevelt Island, since I live in the neighborhood that the bridge connects to. When it was mentioned that the police were covering the three approaches, I assumed they were referring to the subway, tram, and bridge, but then realized that they didn't account for the ferry, which started running there a year or two ago. Their is a reference to it in a single panel of dialogue later, but that had me wondering if this was initially written without the realization that there's a ferry stop there too. Not particularly bothersome either way. We did get to know a few of the characters a bit, but I think in lieu of all of the rushing around to get off of Roosevelt Island, we could have had some additional plot point or focus on the Visitor to flesh things out a little more. Still, looking forward to next issue. I agree with the suggestion that the project would appear to be New Japan. I wonder if that's a red herring though.
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

Re: The Visitor #1 Discussion
I thought this was decent overall and I’m optimistic for the next issue. Art was decent and a crazy amount of detail in the city panels was very impressive. Enough intrigue about who the Visitor is was generated here so job done in that regard.
Couple of minor gripes, agree with the VCR guys about the panel were the detective saved the reporter, snappy/flirty banter after a near death experience undermines the ‘seriousness’ of the situation. Also, one of the Japanese contingent appeared to have blonde hair, that seemed odd and distracting.
I also agree that the plan being hatched relates to New Japan, if so then that’s interesting too.
Overall, pretty solid 3.75\5

re: Q&W preview - You may not like the style and that is a-okay, but it is absolutely not Livewire level of amateur/unprofessional/unacceptable. There's a lot of skill showing in the preview. Not even 100% sure it's too my taste (and I dig cartoony art over photorealism), but it's good.

Yeah it’s definitely better than that last arc of Livewire!SwiftMann wrote:re: Q&W preview - You may not like the style and that is a-okay, but it is absolutely not Livewire level of amateur/unprofessional/unacceptable. It started strong, but I have to agreeagent_graves wrote:This was boring! Talking heads boring!
Decent art tho!
I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?
