Valiant FCBD 2021

I haven't read a Valiant story in several years so I thought I'd give this a try.

Ninjak - once my eyes adjusted to the art, I liked it. I think I may pick #1 up because of the art.

X-O Manowar - I was looking forward to this the most, but I have no idea what I read. Was that 2 separate stories? Does he only fly around and talk to shanhara now? No interest in picking up anything X-O now.

Shadowman interview with Bunn. Eh. Nothing to get me excited about my favorite VH1 title.

The Harbinger - loved the manga-ish art and I'll definitely be checking it out.

Ninjak artwork is even less clear than the first issue.

X-O is an unmitigated mess under Hopeless.

Harbinger preview didn't really do anything.

Ninjak -- I kinda like the story and I don't really have a problem with the art style. Maybe they should let someone else color this tho?!?

XO -- so, Aric's back to being a dumb-*SQUEE* barbarian who still doesn't know how powerful the armor is so he pushes the helicopter over the edge while Shanhara gets lost in wikipedia. Makes no sense! It's a recurring theme in recent Valiant comics....there's always something that makes ZERO sense.

Harbinger -- ouch! WTF! Last time Pete looked like late-Jim Morrison and now he's back to early high school. (BE BETTER, VALIANT!)

I picked this up, after not having read a VALIANT comic in many years.

Ninjak: Art was absolutely terrible and distracting. Story was lightweight, nothing of interest.

X-O Manowar: Wasn't sure why there were two different stories. Disliked the whole Shanhara talking with some odd personality. Got nothing out of the second story. Artwork was fine.

Shadowman interview was actually for me the best thing in the book. Made me want to check out the Shadowman title and i like the new Shadowman look.

The Harbinger, hated the manga art style and the story didn't make me interested in reading more.

Probably going to anger some VALIANT diehards, but if this is the best they can do, it might be time to become a Dead Universe again.

Valiant die hards hate the current trash DMG are putting out! If you want change then don’t support the current sub standard versions of XO, Harbinger, Savage etc

I'm very out of the loop with current VALIANT. I know Dino is out and now with Bad Idea, but that's about as far as my knowledge goes.

It is a sad story. Lots of turnover of mediocre talent. They have become everything Dino bragged about not being.

Finally picked this up.

Ninjak - art and story abysmal

XO x 2 stories - art ok, stories abysmal. Get this D level writer off Valiant’s premier character before he does irreparable damage!

Harbinger - could this look any LESS like Peter Stanchek. The “be better” line alone tells us this is going to be another left wing dumpster fire. facepalm

DMG Valiant is actually getting worse (if that’s possible).
