The picture to me just looks like a younger She-Ra. It reminds me of these various Winx cartoons that my daughter watches.
Given that the target audience of the show is likely little girls in the 5-12 year old range, it seems appropriate.

Nah, I don't think you're getting it. Diversity =/= intellectual diversity. My argument throughout this whole thread is that, if you're going to have progressive politics pop up in comics, that's fine, but I wish there'd be more of balance. It's really not about diversity of race, gender, or sexual orientation at all. It's about whether we're being force-fed a political agenda or not.I find this thread pretty interesting but, ultimately, I find it somewhat funny that it's folks complaining about lack of representation and criticizing those that also want more representation. I know, I know - they can have their representation just not with the characters you've grown up with and adore.
He's an ideologue, more than anything. (I'd love to hear this story of yours)As for Mark Waid, I think he's a great writer but I've read several stories over the years that make him sound like a bit of a troll. Mark Alessi of Crossgen has a really crazy story about Waid. If it's true, it's very sad.

I can *kind* of see what he is saying. If you remove the backdrop of majestic, flowing hair it looks a bit like a boy.
Personally I think any sort of androgyny expressed in this image is as much an artifact of the art style as anything. Not a stylistic choice I would have made, but then again my opinion in such things does not matter as I am neither an artist, nor an owner of any portion of the She-Ra intellectual property or someone with any fiduciary responsibility to the owners of the She-Ra intellectual property. And really, I have actual problems to worry about and don't have time to get bent out of shape over reboots of cartoons from my childhood that I don't remember watching.
Except for Dino-Riders. If they reboot Dino-Riders and change even one little thing to make it more palatable to modern kids with smart phones, vociferously complaining about it online to other people who don't matter will consume every minute of my free time. Or not.

lol "you people". I honestly don't give a *SQUEE* about this stupid show, but I'm just pointing out that she has man shoulders and man chin. That's not parroting. That's having eyeballs and being a rational human being. I really can't figure out why you're getting so riled up about this.lorddunlow wrote:[

If this She-Ra is a girl, rather than a woman, then it sounds like you're upset that a cartoon girl doesn't have large breasts. That's creepy.TheFerg714 wrote:^Totally not a boy.

What part of "man shoulders and man chin" are you misunderstanding here? How many times have I said this?greg wrote:If this She-Ra is a girl, rather than a woman, then it sounds like you're upset that a cartoon girl doesn't have large breasts. That's creepy.TheFerg714 wrote:^Totally not a boy.

Give it up. You've been extremely creepy this whole topic. If you come out of your bubble, you'll see that an inspiration for little girls everywhere is a real world woman named Jessie Graff. This redesigned She-Ra could easily be based on (a young version of) her... they'd love to have 20million+ views for She-Ra. (But even then, there will always be certifiable donkey holes like the 5k downvotes.)

I really couldn't care less, it's a kid's cartoon. I just think it's silly and emblematic of how sjw's tend to masculinize female characters.
It's you and lorddunlow who've been freaking out about it and calling people "creepy" and "pedo perverts." Kinda puts things in perspective when you look at the amount of insults you guys threw throughout this thread.

It's not just the little. Most pOC's are against PC:

Over all, 68 percent agreed that political correctness was a big problem, including 62 percent of self-identified Democrats, 68 percent of independents and 81 percent of Republicans. These views cut across racial lines. Seventy-two percent of whites and 61 percent of nonwhites (mostly African-American and Hispanic) describe political correctness as a big problem. A Rasmussen poll in August found that 71 percent of 1,000 adults surveyed agreed with the statement that political correctness was “a problem in America today.”

Did they also poll those 1,000 people about concentration camps for migrant toddlers? Because I feel like opposition might be higher than 71%.

I assumed you were painting all of the right with a broad brush in order to make it easier for yourself to not engage with a specific person's ideas. Kind of like when Hilary called her naysayers "deplorables." Or like when people just assume that conservatives are alt-right.greg wrote:You're assuming that post was specifically about you.
