Has Giant-Size Defenders 3 (1st Korvac) been mentioned in this thread?

That one in particular has been on the spec-wagon since Endgame. The character had one relevant storyline IIRC. I'd say that it's a nice first appearance, but beyond it's inflated value due to spec I don't know if I'd consider it undervalued. It's a nice Marvel U 1st app.

The Korvac Sage is considered one of the very best stories of its time period. Those issues always make their way up in price sooner or later.

Don't get me wrong - it's definitely high on the list of renowned Avengers stories for sure! But the character hasn't really been used in any meaningful way after that. It's a solid book but is it an undervalued gem? I don't know... prices are all over the place right now because of spec. Is it a solid Marvel 1st app from a key Avengers storyline? Yup. I think Korvac appeared in an Avengers cartoon, so that gives the character a little more pop culture recognition. But is his first appearance really an undervalued gem? It strikes me more as an exciting spec pick based only potential film use than an undervalued gem.... Convince me! Seriously.....

Now on the other hand Avengers #167 might be an undervalued gem if you want to include Korvac. That book is still cheap, it's the first part of the Korvac Saga and I think it's the first time the Guardians of the Galaxy meet the Avengers. That's definitely an undervalued gem.....

From that range of Avengers books I might recommend # 162 as a potentially undervalued gem. First Jocasta and she has been a regular character in recent Iron Man stories as they close in on fulfilling the Iron Man 2020 storyline. For that matter, Machine Man limited series #2 and 3 which introduced Arno Stark as IM 2020.

INCOMING is the name of the supposed next major Marvel event, and is said to set the stage for Marvel in 2020. Marvel is also saying INCOMING will change the future of comics. Which is likely a hype job, of course. Most of the speculation is that the threat in INCOMING is Korvac. I’ve also seen the new wielder of the Starbrand considered to be the danger. The title seems to allude to a threat from space, and the new Avengers storyline is titled Starbrand Reborn, which is taking place in space, as a new Starbrand has been noted to have been activated.
If the threat in that storyline is Korvac or Starbrand, the first appearance of the character which it is will probably skyrocket in price. In any event, we’ll learn more about INCOMING in December.

That sure is a pretty blouse, Korvac. Do they make something like it for men?

Jocasta is a great character that is definitely underused and undervalued by the community. Believe it or not, I never got around to grabbing 9.8 slabs of the Machine Man books. #2 is a one page cameo, IIRC. #3 is the first full appearance. I was never a huge fan of Iron Man 2020, but you can't beat the idea that here we are and Marvel is going to do something with it. A couple of the Youtuber neo-fans did a show pointing out all of the 2020 variants and all of the "shoulder gears" everywhere. It was a riot!

Very cool...

The Starbrand first arrives in the 616 Universe during the story in Quasar v1 #'s 30 & 31, beautifully drawn by Greg Capullo:

Yessir! I liked your Facebook comment....

Remember that issue #30 shows Quasar universe hopping and is drawn by Pat Broderick. You'll be glad to know that Korvac appears in issue #30 as Quasar jumps across the multi-verse. But issue #31 sees Capullos return (the first page is amazing), some great New Universe interactions, and by the end of the issue both the Starbrand and a mini-Antibody reside in the 616.

Quasar carries the Starbrand with him for a long time, but doesn't realize it until after he is nullified during his attack on the Magus in the Infinity War.

It appears the first appearance of Korvac (Giant-Size Defenders 3) sold 5 CGC copies in January and 14 copies in February. Anyone hear any new Korvac rumors?

Sooooo disappointed by this. I've waited for a 9.8 slab of this book to come to market for years now. This sale just wrapped up and I got sniped on it at the last second. I honestly can't believe what it sold for, but I chaulk this up to MCU speculation about Frankie Raye 1st and the Quantum bands second, but still this is a key that I've wanted for my Quasar collection for years. So disappointed and flabbergasted right now.
