No, they have original stories in them.
They are a mixture. There are both reprints and original stories.
How are the original stories? I've never seen a scan or even a review/comment on the quality of story or art. For having Bendis write Batman and King on Superman it's awfully quiet.

Graham Crackers comics has a few of these on the shelf with their new books, but they are bagged and tagged at $19.99 each. My only guess is that they are picking them up at Wal-Mart and adding them to their inventory?

They are in full steam now, several issues in and whenever I glance at the blue organizer at Wal-mart, it seems that there is a new title there - a Christmas special, or obscure Swamp Thing book. These nag at me like someday a handful or all of them are going to be huge market movers for some reason.

It's like... all of the ingredients in the recipe are there for this, but that's all I've got. :? Maybe, if anything these will have a niche group of collectors the way that people like to put together sets of the Silver Age 100-Page Giants, no matter what the title.

What are some other opinions on these Wal-Mart Giants now that publication on them is in full swing?
The Swamp Thing special and the Holiday Special were good. In reality, for $4.98 it's a heck of a deal. I gave a set of all of the titles (up to issue #4 to my 12 year old nephew and he loved them).

As to collectability, I attended Wizard Con NOLA and there was a booth selling each issue for $10, and the booth was cleaned out by the end of the weekend.

Newsrama reported that DC will have a 100 page comic spectacular at Target:

The Walmart 100 page spectaculars are getting some new titles:

I know my daughter is excited about the Wonder Woman spectacular.

So I read the story, the first page was a bit shocking but the article greatly exaggerates. I do think that King goes overboard on married relationships.

I think King goes overboard in general

I'll take your word for it. I've only read his work on Mister Miracle and what is in the Wal-Mart comics.

I picked them up until about issue 4. My kids were really enjoying them but I just don't get over to Wal-mart often. I do think they are good for introducing kids to the stories and characters. They've done a nice job of showing a variety art styles.
