eBay Escapades
So I got a return request for a Heritage catalog someone bought for $8. The book had a CGC graded Timely Captain America on it. 9.0 or something. For those that don’t know, Timely was essentially Marvel in the 40s. The reason the buyer gave for the return was that the catalog was not an actual CGC graded comic. The actual book on the cover sold for $53K. So this *SQUEE* lost $5 shipping it back to me, and I lost $5 in shipping because he realized that I’m not a dumb schmuck.

Haha. Yes. What a turd. I have some old heritage catalogs floating around here somewhere. I think one of them has a picture of Detective Comics #27 on the cover. Should I list it for 1 million dollars?!? Dealing with the general public can be frustrating.

The funny part to me is that Heritage catalogs are usually $35 to $50 each (pre-sale) and heavy. $8 shipped is a great price for one, especially compared to two $3.99 comics.
There's unbelievable information in those catalogs and high-quality images, even if you just want to cut it up for an art project.
So, instead of getting a great deal and a ton of information, the buyer lost $5.
Sounds like the perfect guy to skip college and play the lottery every payday instead.

Re: eBay Escapades
I have a few that are around 10 years old. The picture quality is great on the listings especially if it is a marquee book which normally gets a full page. I look at them from time to time and laugh at what the books were projected to sell for based on grade. The catalogs I have also have sections on original art. Some cool pieces.

Re: eBay Escapades
Ever since I started spending silly amounts at Heritage, they started sending me the catalogs. I keep the ones with Valiant art in them, and sell the rest. A few dollars to put back into my collection, and others can enjoy them for a reasonable amount
