With respect, I heard it from depluto on page 4 of the recent "POS" thread. And I remembered wrong...it was 17 girls. Well, women, I suppose is a better approximation of "broads"

There is a story beat where Star Lord tells Gamora that he told kids in his school that David Hasselhoff was his dad (since they teased him about his dad not being around). He even kept a picture in his wallet of him. When he's fighting Ego, Ego takes the form of David Hasselhoff and asks if that would have been a better form to tease him. Hasselhoff also sings a song during the end credits.
