This is definitely a Magnus style karate chop
I went to a comics/Collectibles show today and on a lark picked up SKYBOURNE #1 from BOOM STUDIOS 2016. I got it mainly because the cover reminded me of the Adult Swim TV show Archer.
The interior isn't too much like Archer, though, at least this issue. Actually it reminds me of Eternal Warrior and Magnus somewhat.
Oh, but about that panel I was talking about. Except for the blood, very Magnus.
