I have a chance to get these at .50 each. Are they worth it?
Yes, IMO... To get the whole vol 1 and 2 at that price is pretty good. Now, I would go after Next Man and Justice Machine at those prices as well if given the chance.

Does anyone know for sure if that is the whole common run on these ?
yes, that is all of them unless you want to get the Sex Specials. I believe Comico also came out with an Elementals trade paperback, as well. There were also later volumes of the Elementals, but no long runs like the above two.

I think there's only one that is reprints, it's called Elementals: The Natural Order. There's another book called Elementals: Ghost of a Chance, but I think it's all new material, like the mid 90's mini series that Comico put out. I don't know if any of that later Elementals material is any good, but if you want a list, I can come up with one.

Knightt, I must say, it's great to see you back in the DU section. According to wikipedia, Elementals consisted of:
* Justice Machine Annual, Texas Comics, 1983. (First appearance)
* Elementals #1-29, 1984-88
* Elementals vol. 2, #1-26, 1989-93
* Elementals vol. 3, #1-3, 1995-96

One-shots & mini-series

* Elementals Special 2 issues, 1986, 1989 (lead into v2)
* Elementals: Natural Order 1 issue, 1988
* Elementals: Sex Special 4 issues, 1991-93
* Elementals: Sex Special vol. 2, 1 issue, 1996
* Elementals: Sex Special vol. 3, 2 issues, 1997
* Elementals: Sexy Lingerie Special one shot, 1993
* Elementals: Ghost of a Chance one-shot, 1995
* Elementals Swimsuit Spectacular 1996 one shot
* Elementals: How the War was won 2 issues, 1996
* Elementals: The Vampire's Revenge 2 issues, 1996

Spinoffs

* Monolith 4 issues, 1991
* Fathom 3 issues, 1987
* Fathom vol. 2, 3 issues, 1992
* Vortex
* Morningstar Special 1990

Natural Order apparently reprints the Elementals backup from the Justice Machine Annual, and Elementals 1-5.

There's apparently a Chicago variant on the Lingerie Special? Haven't found much about that. There are also some logo variants on the sex specials (with and without logos at all, and apparently a gold logo somewhere), looking for more information.

PS-Apparently that Justice Machine Annual is the entire output of Texas Comics. An entire dead company in one shot!

I wouldnt jump outta bed to go an buy a set of Elementals but I highly recommend Justice Machine from Comico (if I remember correctly) and Next Man. I also highly reccomend Hero Alliance from Innovation (and they did Justice Machine as well).

I have a short box full of Comico and Innovation books. I tell ya, Innovation really sold 'sex' during their short life as a comic book company but some of the art and stories were pretty top notch. Many of the Hero Alliance stories focused on what happened 'in between' battles. I have not read many but what I have read, I have enjoyed.

Well it was printed thusly (not in this particular order, dont have time to arrange it)

Hero Alliance (graphic novel) (Pied Piper Comics)
Hero Alliance: The End of the Golden Age #1-4 (Innovation Comics)
Hero Alliance Vol. 1, #1 (Wonder Comics)
Hero Alliance Vol. 2, #1-17 (Innovation Comics)
Hero Alliance Annual #1
Hero Alliance Quarterly #1-4
Hero Alliance Special #1
Hero Alliance/Justice Machine: Identity Crisis
Innovation Spectacular #1

There is also a Hero Alliance HC (which I am happy to own) and the Pied Piper SC TPB. Same story, different company. Just my wierd luck to get the 'limited' HC. And the story in this book is GREAT.

(got lucky on the above. It came from Canada and it was a limited series that I didnt even know existed and at a price less than $10)

Hero Alliance was first published as a graphic novel by Pied Piper Comics in the late 1980s. It was reprinted in series form with minor edits and additional pages by Innovation Publishing as the series Hero Alliance: End of the Golden Age. The series continued as a one-shot by Wonder Comics, and then moved to its final home at Innovation, where it ran 17 issues, plus numerous special issues.

The team basically formed after the death of their premiere member The Guardsman. And now granted, I have not read many of the issues... there was more behind the scenes action than... action. Kind of like 'the lives of the superheroes after the action, these are the days of our lives, slipping through the hour glass' kind of approach.

Trust me... I think you would like it. More to follow when I can.

Elementals books needed

Post by buxfan »

At the risk of sounding like a total perv, I am in need of the following books to finish off my Elementals collection:

Elementals Swimsuit Spectacular Variant Cover
Elementals Sex Special (Vol 1) #4
Elementals Sex Special (Vol 2) #1
Elementals Sex Special (Vol 2) #1 Variant Cover
Elementals Sex Special (Vol 2) #2
Elementals Sex Special (Vol 2) #2 Variant Cover

I would also be interested in acquiring any other Elementals and Elementals-related books cheaply.

not being a perv at all, if you're an anal collector type like myself, you need those dirty Sex Special books to complete your set. I have a few of them, including a gold logo edition of the first one (the one with Fathom frolicking with a dolphin!) :oops:

Believe me, I thought long and hard before hitting the submit button... considering the subject matter with which I was posting and my relative noob-ness (although I've been lurking the boards for a couple of months).
And then I thought, "If anyone asks, I'll just blame it on Rock & Roll and R-rated movies."
