A new challenge for those with complete collections :?
Dude, you're killing me, just killing me. do you think it's safe to assume that Spider-Man 2099 #41-45 also have newsstand price variants as well?

It seems a safe assumption. When Marvel prices went from $1.50 to $1.95 on Direct Editions, the Newsstand appears to have stayed at $1.50 for several months.....sorry for giving you more to collect

I'll check 'em out this evening (assuming no 'honey do' lists are waiting for me...)

I think the $1.50 books still had newsprint and the $1.95 had the glossy paper.

I am assuming that to be so and was common practice but I just want to be sure. I have seen a couple examples where there was a difference in price and nary a difference to be found.

Here's one more possibility...I found 3 books in the cheap bins, each individually bagged with a Sega Sub-Terrania poster.

Ghost Rider 2
X-Men 9
Doom 18

Porn? Aren't you the one who caught your wife watching a how-to striptease dvd on Father's Day? You, my friend obviously either don't need porn or need to be very concerned about your marriage...

joking, of course... :D

Considering the amount of porn AND alcohol $1.49 could buy you these days... my best bargain is my wife with the striptease video.

Now... which do you think I bank my $1.49 on ANY day of the week, eh ?

Thats right... a 2099 book and a hot wife (who has the initiative to watch a striptease video... life is good) no concerns here, bud.

And for the few whom have actually seen my wife or her photo, I would bet the mortgage that they would say that I am a VERY lucky man, and WAY out of my league :thumb:

And this quote here ?
Porn? Aren't you the one who caught your wife watching a how-to striptease dvd on Father's Day? You, my friend obviously either don't need porn or need to be very concerned about your marriage...
You sir, are a very wise man. Five bonus points for you. :thumb: :thumb:

Does anyone know where the 2099 Limited ashcan blue signed that is listed on the checklist was originally available from? Does it come with a CoA or is this just some generically signed ashcan?

I've been looking high and low for one but all I seem to find are con signed copies with no CoA. Any help is appreciated.

i just found a neat little article in Amazing Heroes #198. They showed some original characters sketches for Spidey 2099 and Punisher 2099. And, according to the article, it was originally going to be Marvel 2093 ... not 2099!

I think it would have been a better idea to do the 2093 instead.

I am going to have to pop on Ebay and pick one of these (non-DF) just to enjoy the great cover art !!! Wow, I am really impressed, even more so with it being a DF book.

I've got a non-DF version of this book.

It's really the best that gimmick covers have to offer. Even has an acetate overlay.

I picked up a 2099 card set at SDCC. I want to say it is X-Men Oasis 2099 but I am not sure.

Were there other 2099 card sets?

S1 Meanstreak
S2 Cerebra
S3 Krystalin
S4 Metalhead
S5 Serpentina
S6 Bloodhawk

S8 Xi'an

It's a stand-alone set. I knew about the Masterpieces chase set and let's not forget about the 1993 Marvel Universe chase set.

Here's the list of the cards from that one guy's checklist site:

http://nslists.com/xmen2099.htm

Looks like a 90 card base set and a 9 card chase set. Pretty standard stuff and at least the top card is that beautiful Hildebrant art they did for the GN the set is based on.
