I think Bob only responds to emails through his Letters section on his website. At least, that's the only time I've gotten a reply. If you want send him an email about putting Future Comics on WOWIO for free download, he may respond to that. He responded to my email last week asking for any news on the Future properties.

Bob replies to personal emails as well. At least he has done so for me whenever I have written. Nice guy.

Looks like I was right. He responded to my email on the topic in his October update.

I pre ordered all the Future comics stuff when it came out but over here in the UK my order was cut short for reasons unknown to me still. however im still picking them up where possible. The thing about them that stood out was the immediate similarities to early Valiants and i thought it might be a good idea to combine these stories into a new Valiant universe when they get going again. Anyone agree disagree?

If Bob Layton were to get fully involved with the new Valiant Universe - would any Future Comics fans be interested in seeing the Future Comics characters integrated into the Valiant U?

I could see Freemind working as a Valiant universe series.

I don't know how Metallix would work alongside X-O and HARD Corps.

Deathmask?

Peacemaker?

Just a thought...

I would FULLY support whatever Future comics characters would be in the Valiant Universe. I would not think Bob would agree to an integration, but a crossover event might be a good thing once the Valiant Universe is re-established. :thumb:

I think you have to use the characters in print every so often or the trademarks lapse so it could be a win-win situation.

I think Bob is still friends with John Taddeo so maybe there is some crossover potential with Zoom Suit as well. :hm:

I really wish Future Comics was still around... They were just coming into their own before thay had to close up shop. :(

Realistically, i think you are right about Layton not wanting to integrate the Future Comics characters into Valiant.

Like you I was sorry to see the company fold.

If Future comics also found a way to revive, then I agree that a crossover would be great. But perhaps it would have to be out of continuity - or else its just me thatdoesn't want to see too much parallel universe storytelling.

He's working to sell the rights of some Future stuff as movie projects right now.

I finally did a direct order from Bob Layton and the Future Comics store. The package arrived today and I felt like it was Christmas time all over again!

I ordered a set of Deathmask #1, 2, and 3 so I could finally track down a copy of the variant of Deathmask #1. I have not seen that book for sale anywhere, so I was glad to land a copy finally. I also ordered a copy of the Freemind Trade Paperback. I already had one which I bought a while back from Amazon, but a trade paperback with a small print run for $3 is a great deal.

The package arrived, and boy, did I get a great deal! In addition to everything I ordered, I also got a couple ashcans and a variant of Freemind #0, a Future Comics poster and a Future Comics T-Shirt! All of the books were signed by Bob, and the Freemind trade (signed by Bob, Dick Giordano and David Michelinie) was #1 of the 5,000 signed and numbered run!

Very pleased with the order and Bob's kindness in sending out so many goodies.

I have taken up the torch of Future Comics as well... I struck it pretty big a while back with quite a few books for $.99 (including that variant that you mentioned) for the whole lot.

Does Bob have these unsigned ? I would prefer mine that way but would make sure and pick up a couple signed as well.

Yep, I'm sure you could request them unsigned and he would oblige. I had never been able to find a copy of the Deathmask variant on eBay or anywhere else, so I'm glad I finally tracked this one down.

Gah !!!!

Im missing all of the HTF items and i mean all of them.

The problem is that all the Future stuff i see is from 10p to 50p but no one has anything higher so chances are when and if i do find some HTF bits they will have been thumbed in cheap boxes.

Though i guess its better to have a copy than not.

Awesome, so still needs adding to the master list.

Almost thought i had a new one, but that would be impossible at this point.
