Nintendo 3DS XL
Was wondering if anyone is considering a purchase of the soon to be released 3DS XL? The three bland colours aside, it does look pretty good. I dunno. I just may have to get one. I'm pretty averse to having multiple devices, but sheesh there are some games on the new system I definitely wouldn't mind checking out.

Re: Nintendo 3DS XL
My kids have the regular 3DS and seem to enjoy it but, honestly, they dont use the 3D capabilities often. Maybe the new bigger one will make the 3D better??
When playing through Mario Land 3D I turned on the 3D just a little bit, not the max at all, my brain couldnt work through it.

I hear you Ian. I am red/green colour blind and most times 3D gives me a flaming headache/migraine. If I do get it, I'll definitely check the 3D out, but I'll probably just turn it off.
Just saw that Japanese owners who buy the digital download of Super Mario Bros 2 get the opportunity to get the original arcade Donkey Kong.

Oh man, I've been wanting to play the original on a hand held for YEARS. I do hope that Nintendo extends this offer outside the pacific rim.

Nintendo 3DS XL
I absolutely love my DSi XL. For that reason alone I'll be eventually upgrading my 3DS. But as you point out the colors are awfully meh. I might hold out to see what other colors will come out down the line, but if I play one in the meantime I may not be able to resist.

Re: Nintendo 3DS XL
I'm definitely wanting one. I was excited about the 3ds until I held one for 30 seconds and my hands cramped up. Had the same problem with ds lite. Finally got a dsixl and it was perfect, but i havent played it yet cause I lent it to a friend.
I'll probably wait for a price drop before shelling out for a 3ds xl.

It's not that I don't have an avatar... I've just been working on it for the last few hundred years.

Re: Nintendo 3DS XL
That's a good point, Aram. I hadn't thought about the physical size being easier to play. I was thinking more about a bigger screen being easier to see.
As far as games, I would get:
- Mario Kart 7
- Super Mario Bros 2
- Super Mario 3D Land
- RE Mercenaries
- Zelda Ocarina in Time
