Spryo the Dragon type games?

Post by Elveen »

So over Easter Break I buster out the old Playstation and played the 1st 2 Spryo the Dragon games. My girls LOVED to sit next to me a watch. (they would also play, but mostly they liked to watch Daddy play)

So I am looking for other "Spryo-type" game to get for Playstation.

I remember playing Crash Bandicoot and it was kinda similar. Any other suggestions?

Games where there are different worlds to do stuff. And 3-d is a must, no pitfall type left to right games.

Also, please keep in mind that my girls will be watching. :D

Any suggestions? :?

Any Sega or NES emulators for the PS? Because any of the Sonic the Hedgehog games, Mario Brothers, or even the original Metroid can be pretty cool for games in that vein.

Muppet Monster Adventure fits this role pretty well.

I can't think of any other than the Crash Bandicoot series for PS1 but if you have a PS2 you should check out the Jak and Daxter games and the Ratchet and Clank series. Rayman is a left-right traditional platformer but the character and setting designs were so cartoony and kiddy it was great.

I don't remember much in the way of PS1 games after Spyro because I got into JRPGs around then so sorry I couldn't be more help there.

For N64 if you got one, Mario 64 is cool, Donkey Kong Country and Banjo-Kazooey are also good.

 when the first one came out I was about 10 and it scared the living *SQUEE* out of me. You'd think I would never touch them again but I've played every game since.

There were a few other cute-ish platformy kind of games on the PS if I remember rightly, look up (I cant remember if they're all 3D tho, have alil search):
Klonoa
Ape Escape
3 Crash Bandicoots
Rayman
There was also a third spyro game on the PS1 I'm pretty sure.
Theres better sequels on the PS2 if you've got one.

If you have other systems your never going to beat Mario 64 which is similar. Banjo Kazooie was also good on the N64.

Alot of children's films/TV show games followed similarly as well, although they'd probably be rubbish.
