Vintage Dungeons & Dragons?
I’m not a gamer, but I came across two sets of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons lead miniatures from the early ‘80s by Grenaider Models Inc. The figure sets are Wizards (G 2001) and Fighting Men (G 2005).
Each boxed set is complete minus insert sheets. If grading like a comic book, I’d say the Wizard box is VF+ while the Fighting men box is more like VG/F.
Unfortunately, three of the ten cast figures have been painted in each set. I, however, understand that these lead figures can be stripped and repainted without much trouble—something I might do just for fun.
Does anyone know if there is any demand for these? Based on condition and age I think each might sell at most for $20 on eBay, but I’m having difficulty finding any useful information.
I bought these with the intention of giving them to my brother or perhaps making a trade with the gamers at my LCS. I have no real interest in selling them, but I would like to know more before I decide what to do.
Not mine, here’s an example of what I’m describing. I can take pictures tomorrow if anyone would like to see them.
Any information is appreciated!

Thanks for the tip!IMJ wrote:A few years back I sold a few super vintage D&D adventures and some bronze era handbooks, and made out pretty well for them. There's a market for that stuff, it seems.
My brother wasn’t interested in the sets, so I’ll likely put them up on eBay and see what happens. Maybe start the bidding at $15 each—what do you guys think?

Does a $15 reserve cost more than a $15 opening bid? Anything less, I’d rather keep them for trade or as personal project.IMJ wrote:Quite frankly I'd save the money and just list them at a penny starting bid. Seriously, anyone that would bid the 15 will bid them up to 15 anyway, so save yourself the listing fees.sanman wrote:Sweet, will put them up this weekend.

No, no, no I'm saying that I think it costs less to start your listings at a penny than it does to start them at 15 bucks.sanman wrote:Does a $15 reserve cost more than a $15 opening bid?
